Got a couple temp to perm positions open, person needs experience with Magnetic particle, and visual, previous certs will get you in the door fast, no certs will put you at the bottom of the barrel.

Experience with welding codes (structural and process) is a must, experience with FCAW,GMAW,SMAW,GTAW,PAW inspection and metalurgy on HSLA steels is a plus. Any other certified disciplines is a plus as well such as UT PT RT or ET.

Money should be in the mid 20's an hour, hours are 50+ a week.

PM for more info.

I was planning on cleaning toilets for everyone but you said they had contractors for that. So I figured I could wipe your ass for you so your old lady doesn't have to worry about skid marks anymore. :hysterical:

I wish I had all those certs. I could go for a change in careers if the money, benefits were right.

I wish I had em too. I can weld. Mig and stick, better with the mig but no certification.

This is not necessarily a position for a welder, in fact a person performing this position wouldn't have to ever have been a welder, its not a requirement.
This person must have the education and materials background by experience or training to use non-destructive test methods and accept or reject assembled or welded components through his/her interpretation of codes or standards for the finished product.

A welder, certified or not would not qualify.

So in effect the ability to say "looks guud" is all that's needed? I also specialize in "sounds guud".

I wish I had time to train, but the urgent need for help axes that idea. I usually get better people when i train them on the job.

I would ask to explain the acceptance criteria of "looks good" and show me the data you have collected for "sounds good" as compaired to what "is good" with regards to what specification it was built by.

Then I would ask that you show me your training hours, certification level and current eye exam that validates your inspection and disposition.

You could train me in your spare time and at your own pace. I'm a fast learner.

A little off topic, but a question to you Randy.

If you were signed onto a contract-to-hire position. They paid XX/hr, and you were hired, would you ask for more, less, or the same if you knew everything you were doing, comfortable with the work.

Or would you let the company offer you XX/hr, and just haggle?
