And for the questions that will obviously come up, yes it was pump 93, and thr reason for low MPH is his 180* downstream air temps had dropped the timing from 8* (yes his max timing was 8*) to 5.75 by the end of the run.

BTW thats a Gerald built tranny and a Cameron converter, the SOB sounds like a power-glide running down the track. Its the only Lightning I have ever heard that you cant even hear the 1-2 shift and the log barely shows it, it happens so fast that everytime he made a pass it sounded like he left it in second because all I heard was the 2-3 at the other end of the track.

I would like to compare mine to his? as I said I did My home work Ford wanted 7700 hundred, I paid 3500.00 for mine with a 10 clutch intermeadiate clutch pack, Ours has a 5 clutch pack, my clutches are Kevlar, and when it goes to OD and the converter locks it feels like a Gear, I and pleased with it. Good job on the tune and build I Pmed you for a weld on bungs AND never herd nothing back I don't have ss Mig Have a great Weekend, I have a Extended cab truck from California that I will be at the track soon with a prp and I mwant to make it Haul A$$ might hook up with you if you will TKS Mitch!!

I would like to compare mine to his?
I'm sure it will hold up fine, and if it don't, I KNOW Gerald stands behind his work, but I dont have any doubts.

Best way to compare is 4000$ shipped for a BTS and 1000$ for a PI converter vs Less than half that for a 12" Cameron converter and Gerald do do his thing.

I didn't get your PM and I dont have SS wire for a mig gun, I use carbon and paint it. I thaught you baught OBX's? They come with bungs in resonators, too many of them' I had to plug some up on all of our trucks.

3/4 of an inch back or behind the collectors doesn't matter one single bit in the tune, nor does it make a difference. What does make a difference is if you have 20 mile long extenders or you have them rolled up and zip tied in a bundle because that = resistance.

Judging by driving the truck a little on the street myself, the converter feels a little loose to me for a positive displacement blown combo. I was seeing about 3500 rpm flash at just 2/3 throttle on my test drive. I didn't want to push it farther than that at the time because I didn't know what the state of engine tune was or which gas it had in it at the time, so I decided to play it safe. I would estimate that WOT stall would be around 4500. IMO, there may be some power wasted by overfeeding the stall vs. putting it to the tires. That is why you don't really notice the 1-2 shift by listening from outside the truck. If you are driving it, you feel a quick bump for the 1-2, but the rpms don't change that much due to the loose converter.

Its just a wild guess, but I would bet the times might pick up a little if the converter was tightened up about 500 to 750 rpm. A little 60ft time might be given up, but it would be made up on the other end and maybe more through some tighter coupling. For a torque monster combo like the Lightnings, I like the flash stall to be right where the engine is starting to approach the leading meat of the torque curve. That way you aren't giving up any power on the back end of the 1/4 mile by the heating up trans fluid in the converter vs. putting the torque to the tires.

Regardless, those are some awesome numbers for pump gas!

Ya he told me you thought it was a lil loose but I wasn't too worried because we went different than anyone around here with the cam that is in his truck. we really should be turning that thing to about 6200 its still making power up there with that cam he has.

I can hear hit lock on the big end and if you look at the log its around 3800, we look at the trans temps and everything looks good and its got some of the best ET's for the timing that its running when compaired to any other truck with that kind of timing. It was easier to get a 6 on pump with his truck because the timing is a killer on 93 and he don't need as much to get it to 60'

Is that converter a single disc or a triple disc lockup? Typically, if you lock up a single disc at WOT, it is considered flirting with disaster!

If its a triple, you have the durability to have the best of both worlds. You can have all the stall you can stand for 60ft, and hook it up solid for the back half of the 1/4 mile.

The logs say my converter will flash around 4k, so there must be something to it? Fuel rules, why yes there are fuel rules, there are always rules. I say C16 or corn juice. I personally do not have the system for the cj myself. But my offer still stands that I have a set of 80s if you would like to try them. The biggest hurdle I have at the moment is not being able to go above 18lbs because of the plug gap. And a plug change in mine is looking like not too much fun. I have a full plate at work for the next couple of weeks, just let me know when you wanna go to the trackand I will see if I am off....good luck....

There on just normal street tunes its not like were pushing them too hard we drive them to and from the track on those same tunes. Matts is 8 degrees with an 11.0 afr ive just dialed it in specificly at the track. Its not balls out by any means.

Both his and chris's motors are well over a year old with 15000+ miles on them and at least 100 or so passes on them.

Triple.

I definitely feel better now that I know a triple disc is in there!

I know when I drove it and felt lockup at even 1/2 to 2/3 throttle, it hit like another gear and I could hear the accessory belt chirp from the rate of rpm change!

Depends on the size of the tube and the clock of the maf, you can make a stock 90mm maf have more headroom than a BA 3000, but you loose resolution down low if you get stupid with the tube size.

There's low and high pressures in any intake, I've seen some flip it to the bottom but if you have a larger tube that moves the element out of the center of air flow or off to one side it does make a difference and can be a PITA to get right.
