my plasma 50" samsung quit on me monday. my tv was 4 or 5 years old not old enough to be broken in my opinion. does anyone have any experience with the new plasma tvs or lcds and leds for that matter. in other words how is your picture and does it seem durable. maybe some of you have built in wifi and watch netflix. i would appreciate your opinions/experiences. thanks

i have a westinghouse 42" LED, 120 hz, 1080p and love it... my only complaint is sound quality in the LED tvs (this is my second one)... since they are so thin, there isnt enough room to get a quality speaker in there IMO... if you are hooking up to a surround sound system, this is a moot point though... LED tvs run much cooler and use less power than a plasma, thinner, lighter weight, and comparable picture quality although in a dark room the "blacks" aren't as dark/rich as with a plasma

I have a 61" samsung dlp and its great. Cant hang it on the the wall, but for the price can't go wrong. I've had it 5 years now, no problems yet. I also have a 32" samsung lcd. I've had it for almost 2 years, no problems yet. Led is the way to go in my opinion, that will be my next purchase.

Costco doubles the factory warranty and also sells an extended warranty on its TVs.

+1. Just bought mine from Costco. I haven't really watched it much because my son is always playing Wii, but we did watch Christmas Vacation on Blue Ray the other night and it looked great.

I bought a Vizio 42inch 3d tv a couple weeks ago from Costco and love it. The picture is awesome and the 3d is a very good picture as well. It is also one of the smart tvs that has all the internet widgets which is nice.

Anybody mess with the internet, I think it's called smart hub, on the Samsung TVs? Seems extremely slow to be of any use.

I have not, however, I was discussing this exact topic with a co-worker. He said it is slow, almost to the point of being unusable.

Its fairly quick on the Vizio, it takes less than a minute to download a movie from netflix and if im using vudu to watch a streamed 3d movie it is right on point. The tv runs faster than using my ps3 to download stuff.

i gave away a old 13 color tube model last nite....only a RF connection.
it was VERY OLD, still worked, just have to use a VCR

we have a old 27 tube model, it is an RCA, i think we bought it in 1997.
It's upstairs for kids to watch annoying DVD cartoons on.

why did CRT TV's last forever, and the "new & improved" TV's only last a few years?
that ain't really "improved"

the last ~45 Flat Panel i took into repair, they told me to throw away, parts were already EOL, and unobtainable.
