Hi, this is John Pizzuto, aka John at J&S. Mike gave me the ok to come in and tell you about my knock controller, called the Safeguard.

Our first version was released in '91, for engines with a single coil and distributor. Using a single knock sensor, the system retarded only the knocking cylinders. Thousands have been sold.

Dinan Engineering included it as part of their BMW turbo kits in the mid nineties. Jim Bell of Kenne-Bell sold hundreds to his Syclone/typhoon customers, and Corky Bell offered it as an option to his early Miata and Ford turbo kits.

Our latest version is called the Vampire, designed specifically for the DIS Fords, with waste spark or coil on plug ignition.

To install, no wires are cut. The Vampire control wires simply splice into the coil negative wires. To retard, the Vampire simply extends dwell, actually increasing spark energy as a side benefit.

More information can be found on our Vampire page:
http://www.jandssafeguard.com/VampirePage/J%26S_Vampire.html

The Knock-Finder option will be released next week. The Knock-Finder will show which cylinders are knocking. This should prove useful to those with tuning tools that allow individual cylinder trim. Some tuners retard the back two cylinders a degree or two based on experience. It could also point to an injector not flowing up to par, causing one cylinder to run a little lean.

Thanks for the warm welcome, guys, even though I don't do much racing with my 2.7L Dodge Intrepid.

By the way, the Vampire works on Dodge's, too. Don't know if that's a bad word around here.

Which forum should I post any tech info?

Do any of you play pool? I'm JohnnyP on a couple pool forums, too. I posted a short clip on google of me practicing my draw stroke:

There's another one of me up there too, called ixnayixnay, meaning don't do it this way or you'll get laughed off the pool boards.

some minor drama in my thread: http://www.billiardsdigest.com/ccboard/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=ccb&Number=269086&page=0&view=expanded&sb=5&o=&fpart=1

Wow, free live pool from the Derby City Classic in Louisville.

Cliff and Shane are playing eight ball on a nine footer for $2500. Shane spotted Cliff four games, going to 21.

Great commentary from top players.

I would say in the General Discussion. We have a few fellows running on the edge with stock blocks and built.
If your product is capable of saving a motor and you don't mind conversing on a fourth grade level I for one would like to learn how and why it works.
P.S. I can not type or spell- YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

Mitch?

Welcom to the site JonnyP!! Im also interested in learning about your product. Im going to post a link to another forums thread in the general discussion section with some concerns and questions that could be adressed. I know you already posted in this thread but none of the questions were really answered.

Chris: Your name looks familiar. Are you on corral.net or something?

I'll go look at the general forum.
