Since you do not take the car to the track often, but still DD it, I would go with the Nitto. The QTP and M/T will wear out too fast and be unsafe if you get caught in the rain.

There is a huge difference when i had them. I run the MT now and even at 600+ to the wheels they barely chirp in 2nd. I ran nittos right before i had the MT at the same power lvl i could just stand on the gas and go through 3 gears spinning. MT wont last as long...and dont bother trying to drive in the rain at all, but they hook like crazy on the street. I even prefer them on the street vs my MT et street slicks.

Don't go with the MT et streets. They suck all around. Never had good luck with them

ET streets is what tore up your car so they hook good...

I missed that part.

Dont know if you missed anything. Im just saying ET Street RADIAL cause there is a big difference between ET Streets and ET Street Radials.

ET Street RADIAL will probably hook the best, but you won't get much out of them driving on the street a lot. It will still be dangerous in the rain as well.

I have heard good things about the NT05's. I know some of the ZO6 guys use them with luck.

Just my opinion of course.

any good hooking tire will suck in rain, that's for sure. So youre best bet would be to have 2 sets of wheels and be done. Good tires on pretty/track days, and regular radials for the ugly days.

ive done some looking and cobra/corvette owners are pointing to this for the best street tire? Toyo Proxes R888? ppl with 600+ are hooking with them :)

From what I have read the NTO5R's are terrible in the rain & don't hook very well with 600+ hp.

I like the nitto 555r. I've had them for a few months and they are much better than regular street tires. I hear they last 15-20k miles too. I never go To the track though.

305 nitto 555r2's worked very well for almost a year, and held good to about 600whp. now they are just smoke machines.. i just run three sets of tires, stock ps2's for winter, nitto 555r2's for summer street. and hoosier 275 dr's for mehico and the track.

got another set of mt et streets, think they are bias bly, came with the nitrous vette, haven't run them yet..

They are shot now but they have an unreal number of passes on them with. I drive mine regardless of the weather..There is less than a tenth diff in the street tire 60 ft and with the slicks on my truck...

i love the hoosier qtp:) but if their is rain/mosture you better pretend u have a flat and limp that bad boy home.. or you may be looking the wrong direction on simple turns.
