Next door house broken into today

When I got home from work there were Cops next door. Someone had broken into their house and stole several laptops and other items. I called ADT and they are installing a system immediatly. It was in the middle of the day when everyone was at work. I know they are not coming down my dead-end road and parking but coming accross the back yard fence from another neighbor hood. Might even be the same kids that trashed my house when it wasn't rented and I was in the Middle East. I hope I catch someone in my house oneday...I have some pent up frustration I need to get rid of. :rocket:

Hit up harbor freight. They have some badass camera setups for real cheap. ADT is nice and all, but i want to be able to see who it is... I picked up a nice set from there and it works great and will record onto dvds.

i have ADT myself, but they still broke in the first time and stole my gun while i was flying.

They orginally installed three door sensors and a motion in the living room. they broke in through my bedroom window never entering the living room, no alarm.

went on ebay and bought a window shock sensor for every window and had them install it for free after bitching.

if you pay annually they give you a month free. i think mine averages 23/month for wireless monitoring w/fire. also get a couple discounts through usaa and uncle sam.

Well, the fiance'...soon to be wife in a month has two dogs. Let's just say they are far from Cujo. I liked the idea of the camera and motion sensor but when I pitched it to the lady I sorta followed suit with all the recordings of sex and well....she shot that idea down FAST. Thanks Carl, more info the better. They are installing the same system...3 door motion sensor. The window switches are a great idea and is something I am looking for. :cheers

If they haven't scheduled a tech yet ask for Jason smith he is one of my best friends he is very honest and will tell you weather any ad ons are worth it. The peace of mind my system gives me is worth every penny and they do have integrated camera systems as well.

What really sucks is that all the hard working people have to leave their homes unattended during the day to go to work to pay the taxes that fund the welfare and government assistance checks for these same thieves. It's bad enough that they get gubmint checks funded by the working class tax dollars, but they have to add insult to injury by stealing the belongings of those very same taxpayers.

ADT is one of the worst security systems to get is what I have always heard and read. I had them in SC but am not using them in TX.

I had problems with wireless sensors on ADT and had mine all hardwired by Sonitrol, and cameras record off premisses, so there is no DVR or computer to steal from my house..:bigthumb:

Because of this, I am looking into cameras for the front of my house to capture anyone coming or leaving the cul-d-sac. It would be virtually impossible to enter my yard or house without getting caught on film.....

I cancelled ADT. Jill(Jeff's sister) saw my post on Facebook and informed me they sell security systems. More toys cheaper with free install for a lower monthly cost.
