SC Track Rental *Darlington 1/4 Dragway*

I'm putting together a group for a private track rental at Darlington Dragway.
Date- March 25, 2012
Location - 2056 East Bobo Newsome Hwy - SC151
Hartsville, SC 29550
Cost - $100 for drivers, $10 to spectate. (Price will drop if there's more than 20 total racers!!)

This would include "BOTH" lanes prepped with VHT traction compound and a small crew,including an ambulance with an emt. This also includes insurance and side by side racing! I would open the gates at 11 am and we would run from 12 o'clock to 6 o'clock. Let me know if anyone is interested.

We've got everything from brand new 5.0's to h/c vettes showing up. If anyone is interested let me know. We're just a bunch of buddies that want to avoid the drama of regular test and tune nights. Come out and run some great times, with tiny lines!

Hey guys I'm the one putting together this meet. My friends are I are tired of the long ZMaxT&T lines so we figured a private rental would be a blast. Darlington Dragway is charging me $2,000 and the price is being split between ALL drivers. So far we have a good sized group going, and I"d love to see more street cars show up. This is all about some drama free racing. I cant' stress that enough.

My car def isn't going to be the fastest out of the group.

This is a street car event. Tagged and insured, 11 secs or slower. At least 20 cars but no more than 27. Those are the only rules. It's really not that complicated.
When the times comes closer I might send out some personal invites to fill up the roster. I don't mean to go back and forth about rules, I'm just trying to make sure that this is a drama free race day.

The 11 sec cap was to keep people on the same playing field. However there's a lot of interest in this thread from guys that can't come because of the restriction. It was originally started to keep the trailer queen "street cars" from showing up and talking shit.
I wouldn't mind letting all of ya'll come if you want. Just realize that you'll be running against slower cars ha, and only really racing others from this forum. Sure do. That sucked. Trying to find a trailer for 3 hrs. (Note. To trailer a street car home). Especially when I just bought a Big Block Mustang @ the dragstrip the same day and had to drive it home from Rockingham. 3 tanks of fuel and a 2 1/2 drive.....I also remember at Bowman. When a certain Blazer took a shit and needed a trailer to get home. That is my point on letting people trailer these so called street car's!!!

Actually I can pull 25 drivers right now pretty easily. Thanks to this thread and the one on LightningRodder.

$2,000 total price - $100 Spectators (10 people estimate at $10 per person)
= $1900

$1900 cost to drivers with 25 drivers is around $75 a person. I'm still charging $100 to be on the safe side, but all extra money will be put back into each driver's pocket.:cheers

This is your event so please take this with a grain of salt. But with only 25 cars, IMO there is going to be quite a bit of down time. Probably not many people are going to continue to make back-to back- to back passes. Even with 25-27 cars paired up, thats only 13 paired passes. Me personally, I'm coming to spectate and so are some friends of mine from Rockingham. Some people might be a little bored if there are only going to be a handful of passes each hour. Just my opinion.

On top of that you're going to have guys who want to grudge-run friends and guys who just want to make some timed passes to tweak on their car. So why limit cars based on ET? Obviously nobody in a 13 sec car is going to want/care to run an 11sec car, so put the guys who want to grudge-run each other in lanes 1 & 2 and the guys who want to really use the time to make test/tune passes in lanes 3 & 4. Problem solved.


Trailered street cars- Everything that comes in the gate has to be driven. So why limit someone who wants to bring a trailer incase they brake 200 miles from home? Unload it down the road and drive it in. I think many of these guys are just worried about a $500 tow bill vs. them being a trailer queen.


I've done a half dozen of these things between Rockingham and Darlington; its not as difficult as you are thinking it might be...... Once again, this is just my opinion, please do as you like. I still plan on being there to spectate.

You were the only name that wasn't taken from the list. I knew everyone personally or had a message saying they were going. The event's cancelled but I'll be at zmax if anyone else is going on their last Spring T&T of this year.
