For this bill, Section C has been removed. It removes the ability to protect yourself outside your dwelling or vehicle. Write your representative to stop this asinine bill introduced by an Obama wannabe.

Isn't that in essence trying to eliminate the Castle Doctrine/Castle Law?!?!

It would appear so. It will limited it to your home and car only.

So I am only seeing removing the business from the bill. How do the gun shops feel?

seems to me that they are saying business owners can no longer use lethal actions to protect themselves or their property, but homeowners can?

i'm probably way off.

I just skimmed through it; it may not impact the Castle Doctrine at all; it "may" be business' only. I'll have to take more time and read the whole thing.

Here is the section to be removed. It is trying to remove the "Stand your Ground" aspect because of the kid in Florida being killed. This is the only section dealing with outside the home or vehicle.

(C) A person who is not engaged in an unlawful activity and who is attacked in another place where he has a right to be, including, but not limited to, his place of business, has no duty to retreat and has the right to stand his ground and meet force with force, including deadly force, if he reasonably believes it is necessary to prevent death or great bodily injury to himself or another person or to prevent the commission of a violent crime as defined in Section 16 1 60.
