how much will they dust up?
do you need a special PN to get low dust?

I bought some HAWKS for my SUV...and it's ridiculous. I don't know if it stops better SOTP, but they KEEP a red haze on my rims. i hate'em

i used to could go a few weeks between washes, but now the rims need washed every week,
and CACTUS usually misses a few spots, and I have to wipe them again. was never this bad with the OEM pads.

I put brakemotive drilled/slotted rotors with powerstop ceramic pads on my Silverado. They were cheaper than stock replacement at the parts store and they don't dust up.

Here is the link for lightnings http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-Front-2-Rear-Drilled-Slotted-Brake-Rotors-and-8-Pads-/390403358890

and his thread on tech (if that helps with credibility)

agreed, if we got together, i was gonna tell you, you gotta wash the rims, then drive it forward, then wipe them again.
i trust Matt, but my schedule is HECTIC.

l

FWIW, we were on I-26 this morning, at the 526 split behind a lawn eqpt truck & trailer, and in front a semi.

the Semi was following me too close, and the truck pulling the 5th wheel with the lawn eqpt in front of me JAMMED on the brakes (no brakes lights, but I heard his tires squealing)

the ole Tahoe SQUATTED down and stopped quick fast in a hurry, with ZERO drama. nice HARD PANIC STOP, picture perfect.
i got myself safe, then started modulating my braking to keep from getting rear-ended, looked in mirror and...

the semi behind me got the cab crooked, but stayed in his lane, and the trailer went out in the other lane, and I could see smoke boiling off the trailer tires.
he got it slowed down, and you could still hear tires squealing.

my wife said the car behind the Semi went down the break down lane.

buddy said later on, there was a big 4 car pile on 26, dunno if it was there.

so...i am liking my old dusty HAWK pads alot more this morning.... :eek2:

last time I saw Kevin on I-26, he texted me "sir, you need to slow down...."

eh, maybe?
