Most of you are not Mustang guys but you might still have an opinion. I currently have my paid-off Competition Orange 04 Cobra with 550+rwhp which has been a favorite car of my mine. I also have my 2011 GT 5.0 which is my daily driver. I just got an offer on my Cobra and with that money I can trade the GT in with a high down payment and get the 2013 Shelby. So keep the toy and dd or get a sick daily driver but only have one car? Shelby is over 200mph stock, 662hp/631tq. stock. This is all up in the air of course and I'm just window shopping at this point. Opinions are appreciated.-Shane

I would keep both as well, you're going to pay a premium on a brand new '13, might as well enjoy the rides you have now and maybe get a used '13 down the road a little bit for a good bit cheaper.

Keep what you have. Trade the wifes jeep in for a new truck and call it good. That way you can tow your 04 to road course, drag strips and out of town car shows

I can tell you right now she wont be getting rid of her 2011 Jeep Wrangler. I tried to talk her into a 4 door Wrangler and she said NO then I told her when she got the babyitis she could get an Astrovan from the 80's! She then said a 4 door Jeep would work just fine...I smiled.

The old GT500 wont compare to the performance of the new ones. I think Shane is interested in getting a new one if he were to get rid of both of his cars.

Def not interested in a 12 or older...big difference as mentioned. :cheers

Yeah I'm not saying sell both to get an older one just one of the 2.
The new ones are above and beyond it seems but I'd wait a couple years and get one that has sat in a garage for a fraction of the price.

keep the termi.
It's looking that way. I like the idea of having a toy in the garage. Maybe in a year or two I can find a 13 and just trade the GT in on it and still keep the Cobra. Patience is not a virtue of mine which is why I traded in a very low mileage mint DSG Mach1 for the 5.0 when it hit the streets and took an ass raping in the process. Appreciate all the opinions:cheers

I was battling a similar decision a couple of days ago. If you plan on going to the drag strip often or racing your car often, then have 2 cars. If you plan on just cruising and getting on it every now and then, then get one expensive car of your choice. Keep in mind that when you have one car and do any major mods, you will be pressed for time unless you can get a ride with someone to work.
For a financial opinion, car payments and new cars are a terrible financial choice.

Other good reasons to stick to what I have. I'm by no means rich being Military so trading to nice cars for one nicer car isn't the greatest idea. Just told the guy my Cobra isn't for sale...:cheers

Speaking of which, when do we get to see the new toy?

I thought about getting rid of the '12 while im in bahrain next year and saving as much money as i can and snag a used '13 GT500 when i get home in 14. I think the problem is those cars are still gonna be 45k when i get back so im still looking at taking on 30-35k car payment. I like my cheap GT payment. Im going to just make this one fast and surprise some ZL1s and hopefully a '13 or two! I wouldnt even think about getting rid off the comp orange car. BEST COLOR/COBRA!!!!!

The cobra is 10 years old and is still probably worth more than your GT is right now... You will regret selling the cobra. Dont do it.

My vote goes to trading in the new GT for a newer GT and adding some nitrous.

Considering how Ford underestimates the HP/Tq of its engines, I can't imagine what the 2013 actually puts out. Ford is headed in the right direction.

I have to agree.. Maybe a weekend "test ride" would be what the doctor ordered. Put it on the dyno before buying..
