Down in the North Charleston area (Ashley Phosphate, remount etc.) ....North Charleston Popo are clocking people for the past week. Every night going to work there has been a handful of cops sitting on the side of the road. Tonight two bimmers were playing around and flew past me, needless to say they pulled over before the cops caught up to them. Watch your speeds.

I got pulled over today in the Cobra.... But I was also rolling around with the temp plate in the back window where the sun wilted it to where you couldn't really see it... Funny thing is I had literally just got on the freeway leaving from DMV after getting the thing registered and the plates. Just didn't have some screws to mount the plates up.
The Sheriff was nice cool as shit though. We ended up bullshitting on the side of the freeway about cars for a half hour then she sent me along my way.
Have to watch out in the fox though.... Thing is 5% all around.

N. Charleston passed out tint meters to every squad at one point. Huge officer safety issue not being able to see what's going on. As far as the cops on the interstate the traffic guys have some kinda state wide campaign they are participating in. If you have dark tint the first thing you should do when pulled over is down all of them. If you bring in a grociery bag full of old tint the judges have been dropping the tickets without looking in the parking lot.

All most cops do is find bs to pull people so they can harass them. Cops are supposed to protect and serve not worry about my tint, tag lights, or if I'm wearing my seatbelt. You can ride a motorcycle down the interstate going 70 without a helmet but if your in a car you better be buckled up.WTF? One of the cops kept saying "alot of fellow officers have fallen because of illegal tint". The window tint didnt have anything to do with them losing their life. When I get a speeding I totally understand that my speeding could do harm on others and I accept it but these laws that don't have an affect on others are ridiculous.

I got a window tint ticket on hwy 402 one day by a state trooper. He turned around on 402 and came and got me just for window tint. Got me out of my truck, made me stand outside the truck and try to look in, all while telling me the same thing about cops getting shot because of window tint.
I asked someone to take care of the ticket for me and they pointed out that it was the same officer that was shot at a gas station in orangeburg because he walked up to a blacked out car and couldn't see that they had a gun waiting for him. Made it a little easier to understand....

The window tint didn't shoot the officer. The ignorant asshole cop shooting criminal driver did. Someone with no tint on their windows at all could shoot an officer as they walked up to the vehicle. I'm not trying to troll, honestly. My car is tinted wayyy the fuck down, but I would never attempt to hide a weapon inside my car. If I get stopped, it's front windows down and hands on the wheel until the officer asks me to hand them something.

Then what is the point? I have tint on my car because I live where it's hot and I like the way it makes my car look. I don't break the law nor do I shoot cops because I have a film on my windscreen that lets less light pass thru it.
I strongly believe that if there is going to be an assault against a civilian or officer, it will be independent on whether or not the vehicle involved has window tint.
It's funny, people get harassed all the time for window tint, yet I roll around N. Chas all day long with my white ass arm out the window and no one's said a damn thing to me.

So if a backseat passenger is pointing a gun at an officer
Then I think it's too late. Again, if some sub-human piece of shit is going to point a gun at someone, reaction time is not going to outrun the round coming out of the gun. Even if the window is NOT tinted, there could still be a gun next to the passenger that's not seen, or right below the window, etc.

The only law that didn't apply is for the rear-most window, but that changed in 1993.
Anyways, I'd say 99% of everyone's tint is illegal, because even if the percentage is within state laws most don't meet this requirement.
"Each vehicle equipped with an after-factory sunscreening device, whether installed by a consumer or professional window tinter, at all times must bear a certificate of compliance. The certificate of compliance must be of a size and form prescribed by the Department of Public Safety. Each certificate of compliance must be properly attached to the vehicle on the inside and lower right hand corner of each window containing an after-factory installed sunscreen device and must contain the following information:
(1) the percentage of light transmission allowed by the sunscreening device;
(2) the identity of the installer by name, address, and telephone number; and
(3) date of installation."
