Since the Tahoe is paid off and is great at hauling all crap and people to the track, I think that it is time to look to give it a little better towing power, not to mention its got over 155,000 on the clock.

Any suggestions?

03, 2wd, 4.8L, LS model.

Thanks

leave it the hell alone lol

otherwise, the simplest way to get where you want to be is a tvs1900/2300 and be done with it but be ready to go into the trans if you havent already

Drive it till it falls apart.

Trying to prevent that. The body and interior is still good but it's the drivetrain that is starting to show signs of age now but I don't want to spend the money on another vehicle.

Drive it til it breaks. Fix stuff as it breaks and do preventive maintinence. Get a tune maybe.

Has anyone put a comp cam in a 4.8L? What would be a good cam to use for towing?

stock cam is good for towing...

seriously leave it alone or face the wrath!!!!!

my 4.8 has 246k and counting daily.. 2 sets of plugs, 2 sets of wires, a few air filters and MANY tune ups, nothing else.

Just do a tune, cai and exhaust. Possibly change to 3.73 gears, if it doesn't already have them.
