Is this a street tire only deal?
For the Gen 2's any tire you can get on a 18" wheel.
I just ordered the Mickey Thompson 18"s

$600 to win $50?
Good math skills. :cheers

Maybe a little better than yours.
You just spent $7k even though you had a perfectly good motor still in the truck to win $0. :poke:
and of course I'm joking about ordering the tires.

How is this going to go?
Is it bracket racing? Heads up? How do you determine the winner of the race?
Im confused. lol

Heads up, elimination style.
We pair up, and the winner races the winners of other races until were left with one winner :)
This is my 1st time setting this up, so it won't be perfect.

I think you should be allowed, as long as you run 18" wheels like the rest of us.
Why don't we all make one "qualifying pass" and pair up like a real race, ie. #1 vs #8, #2 vs #7 and so one. If there is an odd number of trucks, the best reaction time gets a 1st round bye.

I can weld a tailgate on mine, get some 18's, cut the top of the trunk to make a bed, and "borrow" someones lightning badges so I can run too right?
Larry I agree with the 1 qualifying pass.

If we get there early, this will be easy. At least we can get a group of trucks together. It's not that cars aren't welcome, but our trucks weigh 4,800 lbs and it will be fun to see who can pedal it the best. I would have loved this format the way my truck was before I put the new motor in.

I don't like that idea. :)
When I brought this subject up a few months ago, I originally said that would be the best way of doing it.
...but when I went to make the post it just didn't look right as a rule.
How do we know who is built and who isn't?
Does it have to be built long block or just a built short block that requires stock wheels.
How about we just do this, Anyone with an aftermarket supercharger/nitrous has to run stock size wheels. Gen 2's still running an Eaton can run slicks.

Rules have been edited to make it a better race. How 'bout it Randy you in?
I'm 80% sure that a stock blower truck will win now, and 99% sure I won't win. :) ....but its still going to be fun as hell to get out there with you guys. :cheers

Man sounds like a lot of fun, sorry I can't join in the activities. I would say have the built trucks run D/R and stock run their slicks for the first week then if its not competivive enough adjust the rules accordingly. I think in the end it will come down to Randy, Chris and Derick. They will be more consistant than everyone else, but will be a lot of fun to watch and race.

Change that from 18"+ wheels to 18" stock rims and get rid of the word rear and (or bigger) and im in. Otherwise i'll have to wait till I have 10 grand under my hood.
Make it a drivers race instead of a horsepower race, or I could just give you my 10$ now and we can forget about racing

The idea is rims, Randy. The built trucks will have to run 18" or taller rims on the rear.
Everyone will have to run stock size (or taller/wider) rims on the front. No skinnies of any sort on any of the trucks. The idea is to have stock or heavier wheels/rims on the front.
No one is trying to bend the rules. Basically, the built motor L's will have drag radials on a 18" rim, and stock fronts. The trucks such as yours can put your slicks on and run your stock fronts. I would have taken that deal (and a double or nothing deal) in a heartbeat the way my truck was sitting before the motor. I will be running pump gas, a street tune and 14lbs of boost with my Nittos.
Change that from 18"+ wheels blah blah blah....
WTF are you talking about? I'm trying to make it as fair as possible.
I'm getting a head ache from all your boo-hooing. This thing is set up for you to win.....I was actually thinking about making a side bet that you would win.

Hey guys I have built Hundreds of Engines the Rod and Main Brgs will fall out after they have run even for a short time the notch in th rod and rod cap stops it from spinning as you torque the rods an Mains with the new Brgs they won't move. You will see as you install the new ones. Mitch

The correct terms on what is happening to the rod bearings is asymmetric meaning they are no longer round when you remove the cap. So in my terms the Brgs fall out. Mitch

I think skinnies or any other front's should be allowed. I mean, DOT legal right?
As far as the rears, well. anything DOT legal again. MY OPINION. Why punish the guys with a built motor and have them have to pedal or slow it down, or put on their stockers or go buy some drag radials? I know it is only $10. But why spend $300 on tires for 100? Some guys math are off.

Why: For the show, who wants to see the built motor whipple trucks put 4 car lengths on the eaton trucks???? thats what would happen. Im kinda fond of photo finishes and I don't belive in lengths or bracket style racing... its gay
Drag radials: most of them already have drag radials, you think 600+HP and a light rear end is easy to Drive on street tires?
Even though the built motor guys have to pedal off the line a bit they still have the advantage, the best 60' times we get are 1.7-1.8 on the eaton (or novi2k). With good tires they can cut 1.3-1.4 and we already know what the MPH difference is on the big end.
Final Point: Overall fun and exciting racing. 10$ wow thats a big bet I need to pull out some sneaky sneaky to win it all ......... WTF??????? Its 10$ and an opportunity for everyone to see some side-by-side racing I wanna see it so bad, I told Mike if the built guys have a problem getting times within a 10th of me with slicks (and I doubt it) ill add weight or pull power out.

You need to just join in on the fun, I'm sure you'll get through a few rounds on street tires. Especially if you line up against me. :(
another option is you can ask slow04 to borrow his nittos, he doesn't need them he'd probably win on toyo proxies anyways.
Here is a slip of my attempt to make a pass on Drag Radials yesterday.

Updated times. We need to start this thing as early as possible. It's OK if some of you don't make a qualifying pass, everyone just needs to be ready to go for eliminations.

I don't wanna ruin it for everyone you guys just go when your ready.
My wife dont get off work till 4:00pm, and I'll have the kids
How about we adjust the times by an hour. That should still give us plenty of time to get the race done.
Will that work Randy?

I may be able to get there earlier than 4:30, but I can't commit to anything before 5pm because of the wife's schedule.
Thats the reason I said don't wait on me
Times adjusted again, hopefully everyone can make it.

Can the qualifying passes begin sooner and still start the race at 6:15?
No problem Larry, Qualifying passes can be made as soon as they open the lanes up.

Is there a limited number of qualifying passes?
It's looking to be a very good race day at the track on Sunday, I don't know if anyone has looked at the weather, but it's suppose to be Cloudy and in the mid 60's. Mike, bring the tri-pod and I will be the designated camera man.

We don't need no stinking track :)
...but it may of helped me. The silver truck driver pointed over to the cop car across the street, and by the time I looked forward he had 3 car lengths on me. :flame:

Since it rained this Sunday we are going to try again this weekend.
I can't guarantee I'll be there, but my 10 dollars will still be in the pot. Post up if you can make it.

We'll see the hardwoods are still on the line.
Well we tried this race today. I think next time we will have to ban the M/T Drag Radials.

Even with you letting up half way down the track, you still won. Guess you will have to run some doe-nuts on the rear!!!!

If he let out, It was rite before the bars or just after the bars, I was right there.
Anyway, good win Mike
on a side note I found out my problem for the night (besides the crappy right lane), me and Chris were watchin my wideband and noticed my A/F was hovering around 13.1-11.0 in park My A/f had been shit up all nite but I chalked it up to heat.......
Got home and found my front 02 wires on the driver's side hanging from the exhaust. Apparently the latch for the locking tab is broken now and It woln't stay in.

I have a thin tie wrap that will go through the wires and hold it together.
