Was looking for a new car for the wife. As of now it's between 08-09 G8 or a similar year G35/37. I'm leaning toward the Pontiac but don't know a lot about them. If anyone can think of an alternative in the same price range I'd be all ears for that too.

Try sending a PM to Brewerz28. His wife and him have one.

I've got a g8. We love it. It get's around 18-20mpg around town and 24-27mpg on the hwy. Complaints I have about the car:
-sometimes the unlock doesn't unlock the passenger side rear door
-paint easily chips
-clear on the spoiler came off (dealer fixed even though it was out of warranty)
-exhaust mods are expensive
-door handle plastic is peeling off

The paint issues are on most newer gm cars, esp pontiacs, the gto is the same way

Weld in some mufflers if catback is too expensive. I test drove one yesterday and am contemplating it. Only issues i have is that i would have to do a converter, tune, nitrous and tint. Drives really well. Decent power but has my archenemies torque management

I bought the axle backs and had an x pipe welded in the stock mid pipe. I'm ordering some pacesetters soon. I've already disabled the torque management and dialed in the tune. It felt like a completely different car with the tune.

What about a Charger or 350Z?

I had mine since 09, its a good car once tuned. Can't beat the room and trunk space. Mine runs 12.9's with cai and tune and gets 26-28mpg.

I still need a back seat for two teenage boys so a
350 z is out.

A Charger r/t might not be a bad choice.

Though a Cts-v would be wonderful I do believe it would be out of my price range.

Thanks for the input!

Personally I don't mind a manual but the wife won't have it. She fell in love with a WRX and was all about buying it until she found out it was stick.
