My truck, 2002 Chevy 2500HD, has lost some of the blower speeds on the fan control, only 4 & 5 work, 1,2,&3 and gone. I changed out the whole control assembly, but the problem still persists. Is there something else the helps control the blower speed or is the blower motor going bad?
Thanks
Jim

blower motor resistor

The blower motor resistor is fried. It is located above the passengers feet in the front cab......Loosen two screws, unplug harness, replace......Original GM resistors are notorious for burning out....The new aftermarket one will have an improved design.....

yeah got a notice in the mail for my wifes 03 tahoe. said that if it is a problem come get it fixed and if you had it fixed and paid for it in the past to shop proof and they would pay you back i think

not part of the recall :( I've been looking for the part and some are saying its a resistor and a harness, are they seperate or come together?

The wires are attaced to the resistor. Plug and play.

Well whats the last 8 of your vin jimmy? if yours isnt part of the recall then you should just need the resistor. but the harness burns up right at the resistor. pull it apart

Napa keeps them in stock for a little more than Tyler's price but if you wanted it today its an option.

Sometimes my dual climate control loses its mind. My drive side goes full hot and it still set on cold. Passenger side blow ice cold. Restarting the truck fixes it.
Any thoughts?

Probably the temp actuator or the control

Sure is. Blend doors are common on these trucks. Drivers side is accessed behind the instrument cluster, it's the passenger side where the dash has to be removed. My driver side messed up one day and I just restarted the truck and never had an issue since.

driver side blend door actuator foose, you can try a recalibration, but doubt it will help. one of the most common problems in the dual climate control setups, usually starts after a battery disconnect.

my coworker just did his dads in an avalanche and we found that you can pull the dash pad off the top of the dash and there was one plastic tab that hold an air duck to the dash frame that he cut and was able to get it out that way. it only took him just over and hour all together

There are several differnt styles Ducts depending on what Ac controls you have and also if you have rear air. My dually has rear Ac through the console and the ducting is differnt in the dash. We changed 3 last week all with no rear Ac and we cut the tab also since they were on friends trucks and they didn't care.
