Shootout for the smallblock guys only. Any make of car, any tire size, no tube chassis cars, pro-tree, no scoreboards. $1,500 to win, based on 16 cars. Everyone will recieve something for entering. Sunday, October 21. Gates open at 4. Race starts around 7:30. Just trying to do something for the smaller guys, without having to worry about big blocks lurking.

Yeah, Steve it's all heads up. If it was bracket style we would have to show dial- in and times.

i think the fast ford race should be small blocks also! not to just exclude the little princess but as you see they seem to take the win almost everytime we have it and the small blocks dont really have a chance for the most part. know i know that there are some small blocks that can do a better job than me and some ran into so issues this past sunday but it would just make for a tighter field and a little more chance for someone else to win. but thats just my .02

I agree that the same person should not be allowed to win every event and I think that is another reason that events like this have been created. But it is still the fastest or the one that can make the trip that is going to win and there still could be someone faster than you, me or whatever there.

Wes, that maybe the balancing factor, we may have to look into that. I agree with alot of the comments. The Fast Ford Shootout is a Run-Whatcha-Brung type deal, now we are excluding the big blocks and going to get this Small Block class cooking.

In the past, there has been several different winners in the Fast Ford Shootout. T-Pain, Tony Bynes(7-up), Boogie Man and Lil Monster to name a few and Outlawts, if im not mistaken. Our objective was to make sure we had simple rules to get car count up, then implement rules to put everyone in a level playing field. Keep in mind, you have a few guys that have fast cars that are down right now.

I think the Small Block Class will accomodate alot of people. With bigger car counts, come bigger payouts. We just need to find the medium, that fits the majority.

i got a 29.5 105 on my car and can go bigger but not smaller. you wanna skate round on a 28 you can have the race. not hurting myself over a small tire. not bashing the track or anybody but i willnot risk my safety on a tire argument. freddy231 out

Cars have been 4.50's on a true 28. It sounds to me like your bigger tires are just masking some other issues with the car.

In 07-08 it was almost 100% nitrous cars. If they go back to those rules, nobody complain when they are racing big block twin turbo cars.

Not bashing lil monster but doesnt he have a big block? why is he running in a small block shootout then?? I may be wrong. Ill never win one of these, so I'm just out to have fun and help fill the field.

Look at the rules. Any size tire is allowed. If you wanna run a big tire, then go ahead. If your car can't make the trip down the track, then you've got other issues. Make a solo pass first and see how it behaves. I always make one or two passes before lining up with anyone. My car get's it done on a true 28.0 10.5 on stock suspension with no problems. Motor or nitrous, it goes straight.

If you want straight down the track with zero movement, make it work on radials. That's boring if you ask me, but it definitely doesn't move around AT ALL.
I crack up when I hear people talk about how great the drivers are on a radial tire. As long as the car is pointed straight, you can relax and drive with one hand. Probably drink some coffee and eat a snack too.

What's that supposed to mean? You must have been there the night my car got out of shape. Could have been a bad day for sure. That was when I found out how important it is to measure roll out on your tires.
