Well I didn't make the season for the final opening here at Fayetteville, last Friday was the last run. Anyone know what a lightly modded 02 F150 Harley Davidson would run? It's got an intake, throttle body, 4 lb lower, catted mid and cat back. Just curious as to what you guys think it would run. Oh, it also has a VB in the trans. What's your guess? I feel like its a low to mid 14 second truck.

should be good for low 14s to high 13s at full weight, with slicks and traction bars a good 60ft and of course how aggressive the tune is....

we have harley/Lightning section here just FYI

I do need to get my tune verified though. It runs real well, but, there's always that chance

You must have a lightning or harley truck. Elite group of individuals.

Honestly couldn't tell you, the original owner did all mods, the 2nd owner was a mid 60s gent who knew NOTHING of the mods and only drove his grand kids around and hauled his golf clubs. He only put 8K miles on it in almost 2 years. He just took good care of it and drove it sparingly.

It's been a local truck it's whole life, so I assume a local shop tuned it. I can only assume its been tuned, all the mods are top dollar and quality stuff and it runs real well. I'd assume with what's done it would probably run kinda crummy on the stock tune.

I asked for the hand held and he said it didn't come with one, so it either didn't get transferred in the sale to the 2nd owner or its got a tune loaded and that's it

stick you head down under dash on passenger side and look up against and above the kickpanel.....look for the ecm and see if its got a chip hanging out of it..

If it doesnt...then it either doesnt have a tune or some dumbass loaded a tune and didnt leave the handheld....

If tune and no handheld....then only way to fix it is to take it to ford and have them reflash the stock program back in so that you can then buy a handheld tuning device and get a custom tune.

If not I have seen PCM Reflashes go for 150-225.00

came stock with EK01 but most dealers have upgraded any 02 Harley Truck that came in to EK02 that was on the 03 Harley truck from the factory...that is the strategy on my 02 now.

LOL getting him custom tuned is the easy part as long as he has SCT tuner......

either one of yall reflashing his junk would be the shit.....he can run around on the 4lb without a custom tune as long as he stays out of the happy pedal (and he doesnt have a MAf extender or larger injectors)....Ford Strategy on the 02/03 SC'd Harleys is pig rich and low timing...

Oceanside78

So, who do you guys suggest tune it? I know fastlane is a good shop but I heard they really push the limits in the aggressiveness of the tune. Also heard national speed is legit. Opinions on that?

Who is this Randy you speak of? Street tuner? I assume he's good at what he does?

And yes, I can buy beer. By the fuck tons!

I've heard Amazon is great.

Only issue with that is I don't know ALL of the mods done. It has an Eaton off a lightning (or front snout, not sure) and don't know if its ported. I recently found the mid pipe when doing the oil change, it was catted so when I inspected it before buying I just assume it was stock. I cleaned the engine bay, found the TB. I'd rather get a tune done by someone who can see my A/Frs and make the adjustments necessary.

Does he run a shop or is he just a garage tuner? What's he charge besides beer? Do I need to get an A/F gauge before I bring it to him?

Not too bad. Only an hour more than any of the shops if take it too. I'll do some digging and see if I'm chipped. I gotta square away my alignment first, then get an A/F gauge. Definitely going to get called out by the wife. I told her I was going to leave it alone lol

She should know me better than that by now...

bgstew6

well you can leave it alone after you get it squared away....then smiles per gallon :cheers

True. I want Randy to see what's up with my trans too. See if its acting up or not. It acts odd when coasting

bgstew6
10-13-2012, 02:11 PM
TPS might need adjustment....and then it could be tune or lack there of related

Oceanside78
10-13-2012, 02:38 PM
Yeah something is just a little off. It randomly surges when coasting at freeway speeds and when it goes 2-3 it almost sounds like it shifts twice. The RPMs drop when 3rd engages and then drop again, maybe another 500 RPM. It's real odd. But it shifts hard and very quick.
