so my dad lost the key to his spare truck...he got one cut but the engine only turns over and security light comes on...wont start...stealership said $80 to tow it up there and 1/2 hr shop time to cut and program key...anyway to pypass the security bs...they move in 2 weeks and need to get it running

Yep, you need to take it to the dealer or someone who can program keys. I just went threw this and they told me to always keep 2 keys, and 1 spare. As long as you have 2 keys you can program as many others as you want on your own.

There is a locksmith that can probably do it for you near the Charleston Fairgrounds in that shopping center. I think it has a piggly wiggly or food lion. It is off of ladson road.
