Got a new project in last week. Customer complained about overheating and blowing head gaskets on his racecar. He installed a new CSI elec water pump and alum radiator, but the water flow was non existant. First thing I done was pull the new pump to check its function. Low and behold I think some more silicone was needed. Customer said he used his battery powered caulking gun and has a bad habit of not letting go of the trigger!

can't blame that one on the caulk gun. he saw what he did before he put the pump on, and should have known what happens when you use excessive silicon on something. that is Hilarius!

i agree, i use weatherstrip/gasket adhesive if needed to hold the gasket in place. no RTV is needed when you have a gasket, i wish more people knew this.

I hope you charge the Hell out of him for having to clean all of that crap out. I swear there ought to be a mandatory charge for some of this shit.

the fact the guy has purchased a battery powered caulk gun tells you something. i bet he buys his caulk/silicone stuff by the case.

Wow....IF I use any silicone, I apply a thin layer, with my finger, just enough to keep the gasket in place. What a tool!
