Well I busted that brake line a couple of weeks ago. The line ran from MC to ABS module. Replaced it, and bled brakes conventionally starting with RR moving closer to MC. I was aware that the ABS module would need to be commanded into an automated bleed by a TECH2 scanner, and it did. A friend came by the house with his TECH2 and hooked it up. It would not allow him to command the automated bleed. Said it could not control the module.......

He suggested triggering the ABS a few times, that sometimes it will bleed itself, so I went around the 'hood braking on some leaves and hit the ABS about a dozen times, and the pedal got better. It's still not 100%, and I don't know what else to do......

Any ideas on how to proceed at this point?

Yeah not sure why it wouldn't work. Would command the abs motor but not the module.

If you have any DTC's stored in the chassi module it wont let you auto bleed the system. Some tech 2s need a candy module hooked up to it for late model vehicle in order for them to read also. Year and body type makes a huge diference also.

This gentleman is a ASE master tech at a GM dealership. We checked BCM for codes, none present. He was stumped. I'll pass along this info and see what's up.

Oh and also the brake bleeding is in the chassi module not the body control module.

If I activate the ABS a few times, would that push the air through to the wheels? Would bleeding at the wheels again help?

One time fucked up and let the ABS module go dry.

I bleed the brakes; drove around the block engaging ABS a couple times then bleed again and all was good.

Agreed if you cant do the auto bleed keep engaging the ABS and retry bleeding. If that dosent help you might hav another issue. Also if you have a vaccumme brake bleeder it would help out alot.
