Even better thread than the one where the guy talks shit about some guy at a dealership, only to find out that guy was a member here. lol

The more interesting thing I found out from that thread was that there is/are cops that read this forum regularly. I knew it was a possibility..but now know for sure.

Didn't you already admit your tint was illegal in the other thread? Are your tailights tinted? So, you are going through all this trouble for the speeding ticket that almost certainly would have been reduced anyway?

I hate cops like that, If im speeding, give me a ticket, i did it, I deserve it. Nobody made me do it.

Tint and tail lights, or other nit picking bullshit reminds me of what I deal with everyday, Instead of fixing real problems people go after stupid little ones to make themselves feel "useful" and to dance around in front of someone saying "looky boss, looky what i did today" SUCKASS. Do something useful and fix a real fucking problem for once, thats what you get paid for.

That's your opinion because you don't understand the department, the different units, their responsibilities, and what's expected of them. I will leave it at that.

I know he's probably some traffic weenie, and its his job to pass out traffic violations for revenue. In a world of no driving sob's, that shouldn't be hard to do and actually make the street safer. But fucking tint, come on. K9 cars have it and limo's ought to be pulled over on every corner.

Shit, I think tint is up there on the list of necassary tickets. I have very illegal tint, and if I get a ticket, I deserve it. A cop walking up to blacked out windows that keep them from seeing what's inside is no fun I'm sure. Tint does not stop someone from having a gun in their lap and doing the same thing, you can hide anything regardless. You could have someone laying in the back seat if you have one and pop up with a shotgun as the officer walks up. The result is the same if there is intent, and no tint on windows does not and will not make them any safer.

What will make them safer is finding the bad people beforehand. You can make the same argument about gun control, the principal is all the same. All you do is un-arm law abiding citizens, and arm criminals.

I got hit for one of my two tag lights being out when driving through Richmond va late one night. As soon as he approached the car I informed him I had a firearm in the glove box and just for both our safety he should know before I reach in there (I did not have a conceal carry at this time and couldn't find definite information on how to carry a pistol in that state so I kept it in a holster locked in the glove box based on the strictest state I was familiar with). The officer held onto it while he ran my drivers license and after about 15-20 minutes came back and informed me how I was carrying it was illegal by va law. He said however, because I was honest and obviously not being malicious that he couldn't feel right issuing me a situation or whatever for a court date, take my gun and possibly hit me with (I believe felony "illegally concealed fire arm" when I tried to research and do the right thing. He gave me my gun and license and said don't go killing anyone now and have a safe trip home haha. No tickets, he wasn't an asshole or anything. I got lucky IMO.

And Harry unlike alot of people I'm sympathetic of any person who's family member walks out the door every morning and selflessly puts them selves in harm's way because they believe in something better. And they actually do their jobs.

I believe alot of people join any force with good intentions at first, but there are those who evolve into "Judge fucking Dredd I am the law" and loose total sight of whats best for their own and the good of the people they serve.

Those are dick bags and you shouldn't defend them either, I wouldn't piss on them if they were on fire.

Dead serious. T'was my first real ticket back in 2004. A friend and I were leaving work (Old Navy) to get some food. As we were sitting in the holiday traffic next to Wild Wing he decided to turn my stereo on and blast the hell out of us with some bass. It scared the shit out of me and I immediately turned of the amp as a reaction. When this happened it sounded like I damaged a speaker, so I cut it back on and turned it up for maybe 30-45 seconds... all was good.

Next thing I know I have a bald guy in a leather jacket standing next to me in the road!! He told me to pull over and wait for him, so I did. He pulls up in his cruiser and told me I was getting a noise violation for excessive music or something like that. So we get to court and both approach the bench to tell our story. I pled guilty if course, but what really appalled me was this officer claimed he heard me from inside of halloween express! How on earth would he be able to get to his cruiser and get behind me during the last week of October if that were true?

The judge cut the ticket in half, but asked me why I felt the need to have the ability to play music so loudly. I had no real answer for this. That was a good chunk of change for me back then.

Oh and almost everyone in the court room that day was pulled over by this officer on rivers.

I can't argue this point with you if you really think that being able to see into a car is not any safer than NOT being able to see into a car. Really?

Wait wait wait wait.
You stick your hands out the window so the officers can see them, and know you are not a threat-
BUUUUTTTT, you don't think tint that they can't see through is a problem.

:bs:

I had this conversation with someone yesterday. If a cop decides to pull me over and I take a notion to shoot him in the face when he walks up to my window the lack of tint on my windows wont save his ass. Period. Tint laws are bullshit (period) and you know it. Its revenue enhancement and nothing more. Same as the seatbelt laws. They dont give a damn about your saftey its just more money for the state/county.

This thread went full retard. If you don't think limo tint reduces the cops visibility to see inside a vehicle when approaching. You are the retard.

I hate the fact that I have to obey the law and others can just do what ever the fuck they want and when they do get ticketed. They gotta bitch and cry about don't you have something better to do? Oh yea, its 4pm. Better look out for all those drunks. Not yet. They are still on the way to the bar for happy hour.

Also. It was pretty tasteless to start a thread about why it got deleted when you know damn why it did. Are the PMs broken?

It just amazes me how a bunch of awesome people in person can be cool and nice to each other in person at dyno days and car meets but where does all that go when you grab the keyboard?

Back when I had my 93LX, I got pulled at least 3 times a month because it fit the description of a stolen vehicle. I kept a notebook of times and locations it got so bad. Got a ticket and a lil more for "suspected street racing". Presented my notebook to the judge of how I was being harassed and she said "Have nice day, see you next week at the grocery store." 90% of the extended cab trucks/or SUV's out there have factory shaded glass in the back, when its dark you can't see through it. Its the way it is, If someone has the intent of killing you they're gonna do it and could give 2 shits about tint in whatever shitbox their driving. Its a sad excuse to pull someone over or ticket them.

There needs to be a new billboard on I26 that says guns dont kill people, gangs dont kill people, drugs dont kill people.

People with tinted windows and taillights do.

My windows are legal,I literally have to keep paperwork in my vehicles because of getting pulled over by troopers, Havent got a ticket because I can show stickers and paperwork that its legal, but the douches still pull me over. Why is that? Revenue............

You are crazy if you think that being able to see into a vehicle is not safer than not being able to see in. I really don't get how you can argue that? If they can't see anything until they get all the way to your open window, that clearly gives you an advantage. It starts long before that anyway- knowing how many people are in the car is important too.

Guess I better not put that 40% on my windshield anytime soon. NCPD is out to get us all! I saw a helicopter outside of my place last night too... maybe I can hide in the shipping container Joe just burried in his back yard while "clearing trees".

My windshield is tinted. When it was 35% on my dodge, I got pulled over 3 times in 2 years for window tint. My current truck is 50% on the windshield and I haven't had any problems. You can't really see in it all that well, but it's not as obvious as the 35% was. How dark it looks depends on how dark your other windows are too, and the color of your interior.

90% of the extended cab trucks/or SUV's out there have factory shaded glass in the back, when its dark you can't see through it. There is a big difference between factory tint and what I am talking about. You can see straight through factory tint, especially when the big light on the cop car is shining into the vehicle. Or with a flashlight when approaching. The tint I am talking about is tint like my truck. Even with my drivers side window down, in the middle of the day, with the sun glaring straight in- an officer wouldn't be able to see jack shit until he got all the way to my window and leaned in. At that point, he is 100% exposed if I was a threat. How can you say that tint isn't an officer safety issue? You can say it's to generate revenue if you want, maybe it is, I don't know- but to argue that it doesn't make it any less safe is ridiculous.

i dont hate cops personally... there has been some pretty cool cops pull me over in the past. what i hate is getting pulled over 3-4 times a year for petty stuff while trying to get to work in the morning.
forgot to get gas. turn around, get pulled over for turning around.
they installed a "do not turn on red" sign at a redlight... didnt realize it was there since its pitch black at 5am. get pulled over for running a redlight.
got pulled over for not having my seatbelt on yet 1/2 mile from my house lol
got pulled for tag out of date by a couple days
came home early from work so i could get somewhere before they closed. passed the school during school hours. i never pass by there that early in the day, so i didnt think about it. got pulled for going 35 in a 25 or some crap. (nowhere near the kids)
got pulled for no seatbelt on the interstate. lol
thats just the stuff in the last 2 years or so that i can remember. there has been alot more. i constantly get pulled over around here. most of the time it is my fault, and i am indeed doing something wrong. but its normally just petty stuff and annoying when you just want to get to or home from work. i've even adjusted my route to avoid the cops in this small town.

Agreed. They are necessary and for the most part they are good peeps. There are a few bad eggs of course, but that will be the case regardless of what group of people we're talking about.

I really do think the tint laws are silly, just my 2 cents though. Why are limos allowed to have tint but not other cars? Do they think that no one in a limo will ever pose a threat to any cop ever? What about the vans that don't even have windows? You could have 6 dudes with automatic weapons sitting in the back and the cop would never know walking up to the vehicle. The inconsistencies are what gets me.

I will say I have had nothing but bad experiences with Hanahan cops, I think I've been pulled over by all of them at some point or another, and every one has had an unbelievable God complex.

Oh BTW, a NCPD officer yelled at me last night for doing something probably worthy of a ticket. You know what he wants to yell at me fine I was probably in the wrong and count myself lucky that is all I got.

i never could understand why some cops take that stuff so personally. i unknowingly "raced" a cop on the interstate and you would think he was going to pull out his gun and shoot me. just seems like he would have been laughing saying "i bet you didnt think i was a cop, huh"
instead he was completely pissed off.

I think you would be surprised at how much some of these cops aren't serious at all, it's like a fun little game honestly, and on the other side of that I think people forget how much bullshit some cops deal with every day of the week, I do think some of the laws are stupid but they are people too and I think people forget that

Oh no. Don't try and make a logical statement.

I don't think anybody here would argue with Adam's statement.

cop almost ran himself over with his own car trying to get up there to yell at me. he was so mad he never stopped throwing insults long enough to ask me if i had anything to drink. (i had 2 or 3 of the 24oz. mugs at hooters) lol

basically, i was doing 65-70 when he passed me doing 80ish. i thought it was somebody messing with me since it was a burgundy LS1 camaro. so i passed him doing 90ish. probably was pretty loud going by him though.
i will say cops do put up with some dumbass people though.

I would hope not, even though I was a cop on base people are still people and they are all stupid. I know from experience thr I have had days where people just pissed me right off and fess what, you just might have been the next person I talked to so it got taken out on you, sorry about your luck but it happens to everybody in some way whether it's your kids wife or whatever. Moral of the story is its easy to sit there and criticize when you aren't in that position.
