The front seat passenger should have jumped out when he opened his door before the driver ran. He would have had a great shot a getting away since the cop would have kept after the car. I'm guessing he was one of the 2 that didn't survive.

Yup, I'm guessing it was only the 1 officer during the pursuit so he likely weighed his odds of innocent people at risk.

Either way uninvolved people could have been hurt...whether by a speeding rampaging stolen vehicle through neighborhoods and busy streets, or by a "potential" shootout. Or maybe he figured that at least there was a lesser chance of them splitting up if they were in the car? One guy thought about it at one point..

The reason with the whole not stopping them in the cul-de-sac is probably because when they started turning around the rear passenger door flew open as if someone was gonna bail out and the officer paused to see what was gonna happen. Also after reading that one of the deceased had a loaded 9mm Baretta (that was stolen) in his waist band and two other stolen handguns were found in the car I'm glad the officer didn't try to block them in my cul-de-sac. After seeing their total disregard for innocent bystanders or their lives they might have all got out of the car and started shooting? There were four assailants in the car with a 17 year old female driving. The only way this could have ended better would be if there were four body bags needed instead of two. Each and every one of these delinquents has an extensive criminal history and be rest assured if this chase hadn't happened they would continue to rob, steal, and possibly worse.

For any of you that live in Berkley County, I urge you to do some research on the crimes these guys have previously committed and the minimal amount of jail time they served for those crimes. Look into sending a strong message to our County Solicitor and let her know that this event could have been avoided if they were actually serving time for the crimes they committed, not continually receiving time served or dismissed charges. I can assure you that I will be actively trying to ensure that this is that last term Scarlett Wilson serves as Solicitor! It seems as she and her staff are more interested in copping deals versus actually locking up criminals!
