I got a ticket and have some questions about it.

Bottom line: I think reckless driving is a bit excessive for the situation. I think that a careless operation is more fitting for what happened.

Long story short, traffic was extremely backed up by the AFB at Midland park rd. After observing the traffic for 30 minutes, I went over the double yellow lines to get to the AFB at 20 mph with zero oncoming traffic right at the intersection.

He was extremely upset at the time, so I didn't push the issue. Just gave him my info and went on my way to the AFB.

I had a NCPD yell at me for some shit a few weeks ago. No ticket thankfully. The last two times I have gotten pulled over by them I just got a warning. It's about time my luck had changed. For years everythingi got pulled over for I got a ticket. I needed to not break the law as much I guess.

Yikes, I've gotten a reckless driving ticket before for something waaaayyyyy worse than that lol. I bet they'll drop it down when you go to court.

I got a reckless driving ticket for 140+ in a 45 mph construction zone. I'd say a that's overkill.

I got the same ticket for the same reason from north chas pd.they dropped it to improper lane change cause im in the military and i paid 90 bux.

Just tell them you were wrong and dont try to make up an excuse.thats what i did at least.i dont remember the judges name but he was an older man with white hair.theyll have a plea bargin for you before you see the judge,dont accept it. Didnt and the judge gave me a WAY better deal

See at the spot I was in, there was no middle. I went into oncoming lane but I had clear lines of sight for all directions. (Plus my truck is raised up)

Not making excuses but traffic had not moved in any direction for a while and everyone in front of me had made their turn to the right.

I would do what you can to get the ticket changed from reckless driving to anything else. I got one while stationed in Charleston and since I had a TX license and they didnt recognize SC tickets I didnt worry about it, I just paid the $500. Even though the ticket didnt show up on my driving record it showed up on my insurance record. Insurance considers reckless driving = to DUI. I had my insurance canceled and caught hell finding insurance with the reckless driving ticket for the next 3 years.

Thanks Lorenz. I am not too worried. I havent had a violation in a couple of years and on top of it, this is only my third ticket ever.

I am pretty sure that it will be dropped down at court but we'll see.
