Quote from dave owner of nitrous outlet
The puck is 1inch tall and 1 3/4 in Diameter. Once the intake floor is machined to accept the puck the push sticks up around 3/4 of an inch off the floor. I have talk to porters and from my understanding a properly ported or designed intake's floor does not do much as far as air flow. If all the info I have been given is correct I do not see how this little puck will affect the air flow. I am talking with someone to have them flow it on there bench to see though.

Seems ass backwards to me. Probably should have tested that before production?? There's no way that doesn't have some affect on air flow and even distribution.

Not to start a pissing match, but the floor of an intake having a big boulder on it HAS to effect air flow. If it didn't, then why would intakes be smoothed/ported on the floor?
DIGGLER

instead of machining the intake floor for the puck, i would tap the intake for a fogger that would work much better.

Its a cheap alternative. Not everyone can afford a fogger and not all classes allow foggers.

If it interfered with the airflow by any significant amount wouldnt it show up on your plug readings? People run dual spray bars inside intakes, do they effect airflow?

its basically a fogger. there is a nozzle for each runner. not sure on cost though?

i dont think the puck will cause much problems hp wise by being in that area of the intake.... im trying to find it now, but i remember reading a pyramid type thing being installed in the intake floor where this puck gets mounted. can't find it now?

Thats the idea, its a cheap alternative to a fogger. Of course its not as tunable as a fogger jet wise but you can get almost equal results since its flowed and adjusted for your intake. It starts at $350 installed vs $1000+ for custom fogger.

It's a sledge hammer plate from Induction solutions flowed by Steve Johnson from 150-650 shot. $1050...when you run a class that only allows plate systems you gotta do whatever you can to be fast in class trim

That is pretty good numbers. I was looking at the way they flow bench intakes, and it would seem that the puck would only slightly restrict air flow, but not too much. When they wet flow an intake, due to the boost/vacuum signal generated by the motor under the carb, most of the fuel coming from a carb sticks to the top of the runners, very little fuel sees the bottom of the intake. I think the puck is a really good idea, but you would still want a fogger in your high horsepower (1000 hp plus) applications for its per cylinder tuning capabilities.:bigthumb:

I never have understood calling it "150 shot" or whatever- it's a jet size. Every motor reacts differently to a jet size. So I'd like to know what jet sizes those were...
Assuming the jet sizes and the "shot sizes" are close- Those numbers tell me that the motor is either too high compression for nitrous or it's got the wrong cam in it. For it to pick up that much to the rear tires, something isn't ideal. I would be willing to bet it doesn't live or it's super touchy to tune.
My care would pick up around 375 to the tires on a 28/32. It wouldn't live though. Knocked the compression out of it and now it's good to go.
slowgreen99
09-25-2013, 01:45 PM
X2, i guess its more of a reference. Hell, the I.S. plate on my car had a .300-350 range of hp for one jet size. Its all in a tune up and combo. Still is cool that the puck works better than i thought.

That is typical when it is eating nothing but nitrous and has exceeded the efficiency of the setup.
