Ideas for my retirement dinner

We are currently schedule at the Liberty House in Mt. Pleasent but they just called and said for 50 people we have to do a buffet at 30 bucks a piece. This is BS after we picked 5 dinners to pick from a month ago!

Basically, I need a place that can hold 50 people that isn't outragious in price that serves alcohol. Preferably a private room. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Dayumm Shane. Did you tell them it was going to be a bunch of Navy guys? Their first thought was probably Sailors+Alcohol= charge enough to cover damages :D

Try Summerville Country Club. My wifes school uses that place all the time for special events and they are great!!!

Thanks Man, I am at my wits end with them. They have screwed up so many times with booking and now this. I think we are gonna rent out Genneros down Ashley Crashphate and Dorchester. :cheers

^^^If it's done in a tactful way with plenty of people, I bet you are correct. My wife and I usually go there on "date nights" during the summer months but if this is their game, then fk'em; we will not darken the doorway of that place again. Shane, Neal is right. We can put them on blast, if you'd like? It's your retirment dude, don't let them crabwalk out of this BS.

Thanks, they came back and said they COULD do it but that we would have to be VERY PATIENT with them cause the OTHER manager should not have told us we could have dinners instead of the buffet. Honestly, I'm done with them. No worries...just gonna get my Italiano on :bigthumb:

Definitely, first time I went there many years ago the owner or one of them came over and asked how dinner was. I had been stationed in Sicily for two years and said I was disappointed bruschetta wasn't an appetizer. He said in his Italian accent, "You wanta bruschetta you getta bruschetta". Made it, delivered it and didn't charge us. That...is amazing. :bigthumb:
