I had my opinion formed just from reading the title of the Article but when I read the whole article, now I feel the off duty cop might have been justified.

I agree, not a whole lot of info and this can be spun a hundred different ways of "what if's" and "Shouldn't haves", but at the point where you are on the side of the road at night and two men are approaching your vehicle with your wife and kids inside with hostile intent.............................

Oh I absolutely agree, I would just like to hear more details. The article makes it sound like the guy just cracked and started shooting.
