My brother traded in his 04 MegaRam in on a new loaded Dually. Sticker was $61k. The damn truck has options I didn't even know existed on vehicles. Thing has a whole business center in it for him, his laptop, wifi, bluetooth.... un believable what they put in these trucks anymore.

EDIT: I just talked to him, I was mistaken. Sticker was almost $67k. They gave him some crazy discount because he purchases all of his company trucks and personal trucks from them; they knocked it down to $61k and then gave him $28k for his megaram.........

He said that DEF is $2.79 a gallon

I'll keep my $2k F-150, thank you :D

No embroidering but every seat in the truck is heated and air conditioned. Even the steering wheel is heated/air conditioned.

They have a used Laramie that year at Hendrick on Rivers. My 03 Dodge is paid for and I just cant stomach the 800.00 a month payments to drive anything. John at Diesel Performance can fix the DEF problem for about 1200.00, and you will never need that piss fluid again. The cool thing with the new ones is you don't have to worry about Bully Dog or Smarty tuners. The new Dodges are retuned with EFI Live, and then 20 plus MPG all day long.

my brother said he was getting his system removed and he said the mileage is supposed to go "UP" to 24/24 all things being equal.

I bought a 13 Ram 2500 Laramie and really like it so far. Much better than the 11 F250 King Ranch i got out of. Mileage is much better and the truck is more comfortable to me. I like the Cummins better than the Power Stroke also.

And that's why i bought a 2007 lol...

I looked at Ford, Dodge, Chevy, and even a couple of Tundras- out of all the trucks I looked at, I liked the Dodge the best and I have ALWAYS had either Chevys or Toyotas prior to this... The new ones are definitely badass though!

Only got 150kmi on my long since paid off 03 Dodge Cummins dually. Its been stone cold reliable so far other than taking the dash out to replace the HVAC control doors with updated ones. Hoping the weather dries out enough this long weekend to replace some worn front end parts (sway bar links, inner tie rods, upper ball joints). I'm not bitching at all for what little I have had to do to it for 150kmiles. I do and have been replacing all fluids every 30kmiles as long as I've had it. Engine oil and filter every 7500 with fuel filters every 15kmiles.

As far as $60k trucks go, they will keep selling them for that price as long as people keep buying them at that price. I can fix a lot of stuff on my paid off $34k original price dually before I succumb to a $60k truck price.

this is why Hoss is so happy with mine, I did all 4 Heater Treater doors, and the front end last year. regular maintenance keeps old Cummins going.
Hoss put a tuner on my 06, says he is near 20MPG, IIRC?

my buddy said the DEF is much better than the DPF,
and he uses very little of it.

IIRC, it was $1200 to get rid of the DPF equipment,
I have not read up on the DEF.

he said 2012 is DPF=bad MPG, 2013 is DEF=good MPG out of the box.

I had it for about 3 weeks because he wanted mine without the bed cover to help move family, and I got about 23 around town, and 16 pulling my 32' enclosed back and forth to Orangeburg. Driving his further confirmed to me that I need to drop the gear ratio in my dually.:bigthumb:

My lil 2.0 TDI uses DEF, needs refilled once every 10k miles, and its less than 3 dollars a gallon. best thing to diesels and fuel economy, if you're going to remove it, don't even bother buying one with it.

I saw an awesome deal at the Chevy place in Ravenel about a week ago. They had a 2011 4 door Dodge 2500 SLT diesel, 4x4, box stock has 37k miles for 34k.

Some good read for the DEF haters:

Different platform, but it's the industry standard setup.
