i payed about 400-450 for my used mac... mackbook pro 15... im sure u could get one at a decent price if u watch ebay.

The best prices I have seen on excellent quality laptops have come from Toshiba Direct. I have two Toshiba, one is 7 years old and the only problem is lines have started to appear on the monitor. It is about a $100 fix. My other is 5 months old or so.

X2 on toshiba for cheap. Paid like $270 for mine. Still working great. About 3 yearsish old

Get a used IBM/lennovo thinkpad with about a 14" screen. It's a no frills computer for work or school and is built like a brick shithouse. Dead reliable.

You can find refurbished thinkpads on Ebay that are ex company laptops (out of warranty).

I've had mine for probably 5-6 years and it's been through many deployments in the shit hole with heat, sand, dust, dropped, etc. It still remains my GO-TO laptop when I am going TDY for a couple of weeks and need to do reports/classwork/print, etc.

The best reason is that it is murdered-out!

If you can swing it, try getting a SSD. Makes a HUGE difference.

Best buy had an open box special for $870 and I talked them down under $700 Lol. They claim 8 hours battery life...

Neither did I... until JP told me about it. I have also done the same at Lowes, we got our pressure washer for $275 when it was priced at $349.
