been here for a few weeks now in Afghanistan. crazy out here. not too wild as its starting to get colder out side but I will say that it was pretty scary my first few days...its crazy how the kids live out here... they have absolutely nothing yet are happy. Makes me realize how unappreciative a lot of the kids back home are.
I miss the fam....and my car.... driving a MAT V 35 mph tops drives me insane.
If all goes well, ill be back to SSS by early August!

I spent a year in Tangi Valley there...and then a few months after 10th Mtn took over they abandoned/tore it down. Nothing like feeling all that effort and time went to waste. :?

bringing up an old post but I been to FOB Apache not too long ago. you probably wouldn't recognize it if you went there again. engineers took down almost everything (except SF) that fob was cool. Alexander the Great having that castle right outside the hesco barriers..

UPDATE: 6 months into this deployment and it is starting to get to the point where everyone is pissing you off and you're getting homesick....I miss my kid, my fianc?®e, and my CAR... Sniper Hill (internet service) sucks (but still appreciated).dumb rules getting even dummer as time rolls on. (I.E. PT belt in your multicam uniform and now we have to wear an ID badge on the outside of our uniforms)... 3 more months of madness and ill be homeward bound........... I think ill manage.
RC south hasn't been so bad lately, things are definitely starting to pick up though with the weather starting to warm up.

For me, buying tons of car parts to have waiting for me when I get back is what got me through. The psycho gf at the time was not one of them lol.
