first rifle advice

hopefully will have a job come feburaryish. if i can get something lined up thinking of getting a rifle. not sure if i want a .270 or 30-06 yet. really dont wanna spend more than $400. any advice?

Dicks. Remington 770 is at a nice price point too. Not the best trigger, but a good all-around rifle.
