Concealed carry permit holder stops shooting rampage in Portland.
Posted by Bob Owens on January 14, 2014 at 10:13 am

A man denied entrance into a gentlemanÔÇÖs club in Portland, Oregon returned with a weapon and opened fire on a bouncer and the clientele. A bouncer who is a military veteran with a concealed carry permit pulled his own weapon and put the thug down:

Police on Sunday afternoon said they believe the gunman went in and started shooting, hitting the three victims. As he was on his way out, somebody at the bar shot him. Police are not identifying that person because they have not been charged with a crime.

A DJ who works at the club and witnessed the shooting told KATU it was another bouncer who shot the suspect.

ÔÇ£I know that heÔÇÖs a military vet, does have a concealed weapons permit, and took matters into his own hands to save everyone else,ÔÇØ Ian Boynton said. ÔÇ£As far as weÔÇÖre concerned, heÔÇÖs a hero.ÔÇØ

The unidentified concealed carry permit holder is not facing charges, and is, of course, being ignored by the national media for being yet another ÔÇ£good guy with a gunÔÇØ who stopped yet another bad guy with a gun.

If it wasn't for the internet, this type of news would be non-existent. All the hypocrisy is astounding from the media - Superbowl won't advertise a family protection commercial, but they sure will advertise booze which kills thousands of people a year on the roads and ruins countless more families in the process. This guy should be on the national news as a hero who saved a bunch of lives!

+1 on this. Looks like the only way stories like this will get out is via the internet by other like minded freedom loving folks.

They make sure to mention every time "concealed carrying" as well which really ruffles my feathers...they should be saying the "guy who broke the law" shot and killed...

Tampa Police said Reeves is a former captain who retired 20 years ago after helping to create the department's tactical response team. After he retired, Reeves worked security for the Busch Gardens theme park and was on the board of a neighboring county's Crime Stoppers organization. Reeves' son also is a Tampa officer, police said.

this guy is ~71years old. do you think he will commit suicide if he gets jail/prison time?

hard to imagine what the ~43 year old was doing to make a well-respected highly trained police officer "fear for his life"

the ex-cop going outside to get his gun (if that is what he did) seems to lead to pre-meditation.

if he left the theater & got out of danger....he shoulda chose a different route.

some serious area's to "arm chair quarterback" in this case.

heard that he was unlawfully carrying in the theater at the time of the incident. heard that people said they didnt see anything done by they man that was shot other than popcorn that may have hit the old man but might not of been intentional. dont thing that there is anything that would have warrented the old man to shoot the other guy.

I know that here in NC and I'm sure other states if you have to pay admission to enter a place then you are not allowed to carry in the location anyway so he may have been illegally carrying in the first place before anything even happened.

in the concealed carry weapons class I took they said if a place of business posts a sign of no weapons, it has to be a approved legal sign, not some sign that was made up. So maybe their sign was not legal

There was another sign on the doors of the business stating that open carry of a weapon was not allowed inside the store. According to the sheriff, the Ellis' gun was concealed and inside a holster. His investigators are confirming whether Ellis has a valid concealed carry permit.
