My Question on the QA-1's I saw On NLOC rear shock extention's for the rear?? when I installed I had a Question and Called QA-1 about the Extention's they never heard of them. Go to Gen 2's for sale and look at the pitcures of the truck you will see I called the Gentleman and he said it gives more travel (Which is true and transfer's the weight better I was thinking of Mike and Daryl's truck. Any imput would be appreactied. TKS MITCH Also when Ka-Chow get's all his item's KB he will be looking for this also.

i am not 100% sure but it sounds like a setup they sell for the fbodies, the ones for the fbodies is made by spohn and is sold as a setup that includes the qa1's it just changes the mounting position on the rear housing from what i remember. it makes it into a rear coil over setup on our car.

from what i have been told by a few people is that the setup makes the mounting point weak and if you drive the car a decent amount it can become very weak and break. BUT i am not sure if the people who told me are accurate on this because i haven't talked to anyone who has directly done this on their car.

now i might be completely thinking of something else but who knows, i am out of it....

Mitch.

You are talking about SoCal shock extenders. They are for trucks that are lowered, and are bottoming the shock out. I have 2" shackles, and wouldn't need em with the stock 03-04 leafs. If I ever find a good deal on some 99-02 leafs I will most likely need the extender, but even then I would take measurements before going with them.

I don't think these will help if you are not bottoming the shock out.

I tried to send you the nloc pic's the piece look's sturdy it look's like it has a center spacer to support the flex of the rearend. The guy e-mailed me and the truck is lower than 2" No it doesn't seem we are bottoming out, I when installed had seemed pleanty of travel. Did Pic's arive? TKS MITCH

Here is an oddball question. Why would you need shock EXTENDERS on a lowered vehicle application? I know it most likely moves the shock up and all.

But my counter question is. Can't you do the same thing with a set of shocks for lowered applications? Such as DJM drop shocks, toxis gas shocks, nitro gas shocks etc etc? I know in the lowered vehicle world even a drop of 2" on a truck and putting one of the above mentioned (for the approriate drop of course) will make it ride BETTER than stock.

So instead of moving the shock higher (I assume again correct me if I am wrong) but doesnt that make it stiffer? Or is mainly used for a quicker rebound?

Hal,

The shocks we are using are QA1 Adjustable. We adjust the shocks accordingly for the track (loosen the front and stiffening the back). DJM and the other companies do not make comparable shocks.

So now when we lower the truck, and use the QA1 they will bottom out. The extender will move the mounting point lower, giving more range of motion.

Ahh, so you guys are trying to get the best of both worlds than?

If so I understand. I did not see any mentioning of the qa'1s being adjustable. i did not know they were adjustable. I apologize. Trying to help when it wasnt needed.

Mike Just get *airbags* and adjustable all the time
