Those running 4"-5" R15 skinnies what size/brand tire are you running ?
I currently have 165 futuras but apparently they dont make them anymore.
I was looking for something streetable so i didnt want to get into the M/T or Hoosier front runners.

Thanks
Chris

We have the same size on are chevelle. The name brand for those are wide track. I really lke the ones on the S-10 but they are futuras. The size is 185/65 15. they are shorter but mutch beefer. Did they quit making futuras or just that size?

I think its just that size, Pepboys used to carry them but they dont carry anything in a 165 now.

Several companies have stopped making that size tire. There has been a thread on Corral for a while now about different tire sizes and option to take the 165's place. When I run skinny wheels I always used to run the 165's as well. I dont know what I'll go to when I buy another set.

You can try the 185/65's. Like I said they are shorter. Like around 1in. just a little wider. Hve a much beefer feel to them. Look more like a real street tire. Not so rounded looking. They were on the truck when I bought it so thats about all I can tell you about them.

Chris, Call Mike Henderson @ Williams Tire on Dorchester Rd. He can get you either Kuhmo's or Federal's in the 165/R/15. He got me the federals for me about 4 month's ago. So far they have worked ok. Of course there not Mickey's, but not too bad for about 45.00 each. Tell him I sent you to him when you call.

Get a set of the M/T sportsman front runners . They are DOT approved radials and actually have a good speed rating unlike the 165/15 from most tire companies . I've got them on my car and Darryl runs them on the LTD . They are $100 a piece from Summit .

they are a much better choice and much safer choice than what i have or what most do.. butttt i have had no issues with mine and they have been on many road trips and gone over 150 many times.. but again i would advise going with the M/T's.

I broke a Bogart in half from running the el cheapo 165 tires. I now run MT front runners. They are made for the rims and they actually feel better when driving.

i'm gonna have to agree with the MT Sportsman fronts- great tire, I wouldn't use anything else.

I started with Cooper Cobras on the front of the LTD, but developed a shake at about 100mph. I called MT and the tech there told me the shake was from running a steel belted front tire with a bias ply ET street in the rear. He told me to run sportsman pro fronts. I did and my shake went away. I can let you know the size if you need it, I think is a 24x7x15.

I'm not saying the M/T's are not the right choice, BUT I have been 150 on the cheepies with E/T streets on the back. I have heard that your not sopose to run radials with bias tires, but I have never heard why. I know I have done it many times with no problems. I can understand it from side to side but not front to back. Either way after running with DR's I dont see me ever going back to slicks.
