Any one ever run a motor that had the pistons cut to clear the crank?? I bought a rotating assembly used and found this was done and now I am wondering if they would be safe to run or not. The pistons are diamond here are a few pics

Mine are like that, but they are short skirt pistons. Typically you will see them in stroker motor applications. Sometimes you even have to notch the bottom of the cylinders for longer rods. That would be my guess, check the rod length and crank stroke compared to stock, you may have purchased a stroker assembly...

I knew it was a stroker, just figured they would have made pistons for the application
