Good luck on the hunt. I prefer Gen 3 if you are going FI.

just starting the research, not much changed on the outside, removed exhuast xpipe to reduce interior heat and upgraded electronics and hunit extra ponies. What forums are good?
seems to be about 20k between gens.

There is tuning support available for factory Gen 4&5 viper ECUs now also.

Yes people are starting to be able to tune Gen 4/5s, but AFAIK no one makes a supercharger kit.

That 03' black ragtop on craigslist is kris's old viper I believe. He traded it in at Luxury Cars of Charleston. Both vipers are really clean.

Clean clownshoes will always hold value. 96-99 have forged motors. 2000-02 are creampuffs but have ABS.

I narrowed it down to the I/O circuit
what is this circuit?
FWIW, you can usually put an ampmeter on it, and unplug different things until you find the culprit, if it has discrete components/parts all over the car.
but if this is a circuit card/black box (with no external circuitry), it may just be a bad capacitor, and you have to replace the whole box.
i would toss one of these in the back window if you drive it out of town: http://www.ebay.com/bhp/12v-solar-charger
when you have it in the garage, i would keep one of those on it, makes it easy enough to use all the time:
