Well, it's done. Finally. Going to zero it one afternoon this week and decide if I am going to stick with this "different" optic, or switch to something more conventional. Then once that is decided on, the scope and mount will be dipped to match the rifle. More/better pics to come....

PA-10 stripped lower
PA-10 18" SS upper with Midwest industries 15" handguard
NiB 308 BCG
Magpul PRS stock with DD rifle tube/buffer
Fab Defense AGR-43 rubberized pistol grip (this is my new favorite by the way)
PSA lower parts kit with ACT NiB trigger (this trigger is NICE for the money by the way)
Fortis RED muzzle device

Optic is a Primary Arms 4-14x44 scope with their 308 ACSS reticle in a PA deluxe mount.

Rifle parts were dipped by Liquid Mirage Hydrographics in Kryptek Typhon camo

I built a 6.8 SPC for hogs. This one will kill some deer, probably a hog or two, and punch a lot of holes in paper.

Well, she's had some changes....

The Primary Arms scope was sold and I went with a beast. A Vortex Viper HS-T 6-24x50 with the MRAD reticle. Scope is AMAZING......guess it better be as expensive as it is. I mounted it in an American Defense Manufacturing QD RECON mount. Honed and lapped the mount and it is ROCK SOLID. This setup is perfect for this rifle.

Got a Geissele SD-C trigger for her as the ACT wasn't cutting it for me. Of course the trigger won't work with PSA lowers, the bolt carrier was wedging itself between roof of upper receiver and the hammer on the trigger, locking the gun up tight. I then found a thread on AR15.com about the issue, so I sold the trigger.

Ended up with a POF EFP (enhanced finger placement) trigger. It's a drop in unit that uses a unique trigger bow to place your finger at the tip of the trigger for more leverage (more leverage = lighter pull) and makes you use this same spot for every trigger pull. I like the trigger a lot.

Also added a Harris 6-9" bipod in an American Defense QD bipod mount.

The gun is DONE. Nothing more for me to do it at this point. It shoots marvelously, I am able to get about 0.650" groups at 100 yards with factory ammo. Could certainly do sub 1/2 MOA with some hand loads.

All in all I'm happy with it. PICS INCOMING

And my Glock is done, and on its way back from Arizona. Can't wait to get the parts installed on it and go shoot some steel!

Honestly, it's over-built for what I will do with it. But it is also an advertisement for the work that I can do with these rifles. Give me a budget and an intended use for a rifle and the sky is the limit.

This one is built on some really good parts, and performs as such.

For most people, the $999 S&W M&P10 that is on sale right now is perfect and will serve most purposes....or even the $799 PSA offering.

But for me, for this one, it was about what I COULD do. Once it's started with top shelf parts it has to finish as such. Can't put a $25 trigger in a $2000 rifle now, can you?

And remind me this weekend and I'll let you fondle it while you're at the house. :cheers

Sounds good! I might splurge a little this tax season and spring for the PSA option possibly.

I've been using my .270 for hogs but my trail cam was showing some big guys over 200 lbs towards the end of deer season. Been thinking about investing in a bigger gun and some night hunting equipment. The one pig I got with the .270 dropped instantly but was only 80lbs or so.

PapaBear

.270 is sufficient with good shot placement and good ammunition, but when you get up to the big boars they are really tough.....I would step up to something in the 30 caliber range for sure.

I plan to do a lot of hog hunting with this rifle suppressed. Should be fun.

I used them as my FFL to order my Para black ops, super nice people. They have the best pricing on ammo Ive seen in the area. I had a buddy set my base, rings, and new vortex on my Savage model 11vf and went and put about 40 rounds in it trying to zero it and it was 8" left @ like 45-50 yard. Im going to pull it back off and reset the scope and start over because that didnt make sense to me. I might just take it to someone and have them mount the scope and I sight the rifle in.

Let Buddy do it so he can lap the rings in proper. Also knowing what I got my bulk 9mm for from him I doubt there is anyone any cheaper. Maybe same price... but not cheaper.

I can usually do pretty well on the ammo, give me a shot next time.

As for the scope/rings, lapping is necessary, regardless of who tells you what. Uneven pressure placed on the scope tube can throw all kinds of things off. Glad to help with it if I can.
