honestly never really enjoyed them...its the south...its hot..i sweat...i prefer the least amount of clothing legally possible...

however...recently stumbled across the Casio Rangeman...
http://www.gshock.com/watches/Master_of_G/GW9400-1

and Im intrigued..its prolly more computer than watch and more sensors than I need but I think thats why I like it...

quick search shows it can be had for around $200...to think im considering paying 200 for something my phone already does seems dumb...but...i dunno...

aaaaannnnndddd go!

Check out the Tissot T-Touch series. Pretty amazing watches if you're into functions. I'm on the hunt for a Tag Heuer now. Also like U-Boat and Welder watches.

IDK, a lot of that seems redundant. the sun is either up...or it ain't
it's hot...or it's cold. putting a number on it don't change it, it is still hot/cold.
and calling a round button a cylinder for increased precision...sounds like ad jargon.

it sure looks neat though.
i think it would be cool for a month or so, then so hot & heavy you end up not wearing it.

Yup....few of mine. Have two Tags that I bought and never wear them and buying batteries is freaking crazy for them. I am a Citizen fanatic and only watch I wear now. Most are under 500 and lower ones like mine are usually around 350.

Man watches is a big kettle of fish to open. I have a few older Seiko flight cronos, Datejust Rolex (have been looking into a Daytona), couple Invicta watches, and right before Christmas bought the new Casio Edifice. Its pretty cool cause you set the alarms and such with an app on your smart phone then bluetooth it to the watch..:bigthumb:

If y'all get serious into watches my buddy is the king poobah of Tag stuff here in the upstate. He usually deals with the ones that are the price of a pretty decent used car and does all sorts of repair on them as well if anything is needed.

I had a breitling navitimer and sold it because I afraid to mess it up so I never wore it. I wear a black and stainless rolex submariner every day, its the toughest watch I have ever owned. I have a couple citizen's that I dont wear anymore since getting the rolex.
My wife wants to buy next a mens and womens matching pair of nicer rolex's for when we go out. Unfortunately the pair she picked are not cheap so it will be a while before I get those.

I usually look for people wearing expensive watches and ask them what time it is. Not because I actually care about the time, but I figure if someone spends that kinda money on a watch they should try to use it as often as possible. I guess its my way of performing a public service.

Nice. Watches and shoes are my 2 vices, don't care about anything else clothes-wise lol. I've been wanting a Tag pretty bad but they're mostly small faced and look tiny on my wrist because I'm a big guy. The big faced ones are way too much money. Next watch will be either a U-Boat or Welder.

I have the same nighthawk, and the same complaints about it.

I also have a Breitling that was given to me as a tip when I had my business going ($55k job done 2 weeks early) that I don't wear for obvious reasons, and a couple Seiko chronographs.

The Nighthawk is my go-to usually. It matches everything.

G-shocks are great everyday watches. I picked up the "hobby" a couple years ago, and like cars and mods it just snowballs. I have a G-Shock solar atomic that I wear daily, a black Michael Kors Everest the wife got me for my birthday a couple years ago that's my "designer watch", a white face Breitling Bentley GT on a brown croc strap, and black face Breitling Navitimer 01 on a black leather strap. I'm really wanting to find an Omega Speedmaster Pro for a nice watch to wear on a stainless or nato strap. Watchuseek is a great forum and where I've found some solid deals.

I had a breitling and never wore it hardly because I thought it was get scratched up. It also stood out to much for me. I dont know alot about watches or have money but I think rolex's are almost the standard in watches. They keep going up in value which is a plus IMO.

Yeah I would never buy a Rolex, so played out IMO.

I bet 99% of the people I know who wear nice watches all wear a rolex. Rolex will be around forever I think. Now these are mostly car people, Im sure the "true watch" people laugh at people with rolex's.

I dont know if they changed the lens in them or what but my rolex submariner has a bullet proof lens. I wear it everyday and the lens still looks brand new. The lens and the stainless band are the main reasons I wear it everyday because its so durable compared to other watches I have had.

Just a sidenote, the "lens" is actually called the "crystal."

I had to replace the crystal on a Seiko chronograph of mine (forgot which model), but it has the crystal that is domed/convex. Hanchey's did it for less than $100.

I've heard that Rolex crystals aren't expensive, around the same price range for the basic models.

Need to do this also with mine but doubt I ever will as the metal is beat up just as much as the lens. Been a great watch though as I used it when on sea duty but a ship will beat a watch to death. It just gave me a reason to buy another...lol. This is a watch I had to take off when working outside in the summer in Bahrain cause the metal would start to burn my wrist...that's hot.

I actually hit / scraped mine on something working in my shop, probably shouldn't have had it on while doing that stuff, but didn't think about it at the time. I wish. I had to add a link to my Rolex and it cost way more than a hundred bucks. The crystal and to have the work done and case repressurized and all that crap was expensive enough to where my wife did it for me as a Christmas gift. I wanna say it was about 600.00 or so that she paid to have a Rolex dealer do it. Here's a funny one, I wore mine so much the hologram sticker on the back wore out, and it cost me around a hundred or so for a new sticker. lmao Those watches are not for the faint at heart, thats why I will get a 300.00 Casio or something wear it out and in the trash..:bigthumb:
