Family member has a 05 Durango with the hemi and has had issues for a while of it randomly losing rpms and shutting off...usually in 2 places in town when coming to a stop on a hill. Battery was replaced along with alternator...anyone ever had issues like this with a similar vehicle

i always try cleaning the TB, IAT & IAC with carb cleaner.
do the IAT sensor while it is off, that what the ECM don't go crazy, the intake air temp sensor should be in the air piping

the idle air control valve is rigiht on the TB, around the throttle plate.

shut if off, soak it down, let sit 5 minutes, then crank it & spray some more in the IAC ports (have someone keep it running by mashing gas)

and then, disconnect the battery & let it set overnight.

that erases the codes, and forces the ECM to relearn where the IAC valve is, so it can take control of the idle,

the IAC is usually a digital stepper on OBD2 cars, and it can lose track of which step it is on.

remember on old TPI cars, you had to screw the pintle in on the IAC & reset it, then do the battery ECM reset.

No IAC on a Hemi TB. Drive by wire, but I would clean it. I would definitely look over the ignition components, and the fuel pressure, preferably at different driving conditions (like said hill). You may have a weak pump and/or pick-up issue.

i popped the coin for a Fuel Psi Gauge if you wanna roll by the house sometime & check it.

i got of wondering "could it be" :(

Appreciate it but these folks I met in Georgia over the weekend and was just trying i throw some knowledge their way...they have cleaned the Tb twice and issue still shows...also they mentioned the cowl clogged with pine straw and water leaked in through the firewall so now in wonder if it's an electrical gremlin...BUT they were fine with it just brought up over dinner and I was trying to press extended family I just met
