I put a new clutch and flywheel (thanks Steven) in Saturday and everything felt a lot better than before. I drove around Saturday night and some Sunday then headed to the track. I made only 2 passes but smelt clutch on both so I decided I have an issue still. I drove home, still not having a problem shifting, slipping, etc......Crank up the piece to go to work this morning, and the car just starts rolling out with the clutch still pushed to the floor. Im just praying the cable is bad and not having to do ANOTHER tranny, which will be an auto if I do.

No I dont, lol, but actually the clutch had about 500 miles on it before the car it was in was totalled. I looked at the clutch, flywheel, and pressure plate, and they all looked very good. Im pretty sure its the cable, but o well, time will tell. Ill be ordering one on Friday.

I have a good adjuster and a MM cable (stock), but its out of little Mikeys old Cobra so it has some age on it. Im just gonna get a new cable Friday and pray

Fact of the matter is, you either are:

a.) Installing shit wrong
b.) can't drive worth a shit
c.) get used stuff that is worn out
d.) all of the above.


Cars with more power running the same clutch setup seems to outlast yours all day. Yes, both my turds are an auto and? Hell when I blew the 5speed up in my fox (after 2 years of beating the shit out of it), I went auto right off the bat instead of dicking around with the 5spd. But of course a stock t-5 only handles 300ftlbstq.

I can drive a 5spd. Just rather go auto, less chance of me fucking shit up when racing.

My tranny blew up because it had over 216k miles and many track passes on it, plus more power than it was intended for and was my daily driver. Had a way to and from work which helped.

Who has more transmission problems than anybody and yet always bitches about it? Not I. So you save for it. If it is your DD than I can see your point alittle.

I have raced before. WIll race the black truck. But slowly getting rid of the weak links that would break. So I am not out there PRAYING I don't snap an axle, have wheel hop etc etc.

Ive already offered that to someone but they dont wanna do that until I get better tires. I can drive the car better, I just dont like the fact of the spray being on the throttle switch and not letting out the gas when shifting.

hanlon motorsports rebuild kit and a stock cable...$450 will end your problems, or atleast they should...lord knows you've gone through like 5 trans that i've read about...and we all know 1 of those was in perfectly good shape when you got it lol
