My poor car is leaving me....it will have a new home in L.A., California. The new owner plans to run the car on motor in a heads up 9.60 quarter mile class that is apparantly pretty popular out there.
I am waiting on confirmation as to when the transporter will be here to pick it up.
I sorda hate to see it go, but i look forward to getting my new car too.
Now that i don't have anything to race, i will be calling ProLine and Sheppard everyday harrassing them.

Congrats Wes. Is this the same 7.8 1/8th mile guy??
WWhittle
08-24-2008, 04:57 PM
no, this is a different guy- the other guy was from Florida, this guy is from California. I don't have alot of faith in him either, he was a little confused how the shifter worked which is not a good sign.

LS1tech.com- probably wouldn't do you much good for your truck

i can't remember exactly where he was from, i just know he is an hour past Jacksonville from Charleston.
Best pass in the car was an 8.0 in the 1/8th on 6 systems.

5.75? I only got to see video of the car. 6.15 on motor? I would think 4 tenths would be decent since you don't spray from home.

ok ok, I didnt wanna tell everyone, but ive seen the slips. On motor, it went 6.89, on spray it went 6.21....just looks fast

of all people, i wouldn't have guessed that you would be so far off. 6.70's on motor???? Give me a little more credit than that- you think it never went faster than a 6.70??
WWhittle
08-25-2008, 02:11 PM
5.70 On all stages
it only has one stage. And a dry one at that. And no progressive.

you think an 3500 lb. LS1 with a single dry kit, no progressive on drag radials can go 40's????

Even Fulton isn't that good. With a fogger and progressive, yeah, but not with a single dry kit and no progressive.

some of ya'll give it too much credit, some of ya'll don't give it enough, and then one of ya'll was pretty damn close.
i always wondered what people actually thought that car would run.

WWhittle
08-25-2008, 02:27 PM

simply put- a dry kit sprays nitrous only into the intake and a wet kit sprays both nitrous and fuel.
slowgreen99
08-25-2008, 02:28 PM
single digit 1/4s on motor.....im thinkin my numbers have to be in the ball park, maybe an in the park home run?!? hhahaah
Dry is just nitrous injected with injectors compensating for fuel instead of another solenoid
dkbmxer002
08-25-2008, 02:28 PM
i also wasn't aware you were only on a dry nozzle. with a couple stages through a plate or direct port i wouldn't see 5.3's being too far fetched... haha

where does the added fuel come from? injectors pump up the volume??
how does the injectors know when to do that

if the car was set up to run only at the track, then yeah, that might not be too far fetched. but i was not anywhere in the ballpark of a 5.30

yes, you are correct, the injectors add the extra fuel. they know to do it because your tune tells it too. and in my case, the FAST system told it too and completely controlled it.

i honesty can't remember what i told him but either way i am sure he has a damn good idea. He knew what it ran on motor when i bought it, and i am sure he knows it went faster for me.

I knew it only had 1 stage, just messing around with the "all stages" coment. I didn't know that it was a dry shot with no progressive unit. I think I'll change my bid to 8.0. :bigthumb:
