Normally i would make these types of decisions myself, but i am going to get some opinions for once.

PLEASE ONLY GIVE YOUR HONEST OPINION!! THIS IS NOT SET IN STONE YET, SO YOU CAN NOT HURT MY FEELINGS!!

I really didn't want anyone to know what the car was going to look like, but oh well.

Tell me if you like this or not- i am still trying to decide on colors but they are really easy to change-
I also want to make sure that everyone "gets" a certain part of it.

Honestly. I like it. I actually was picturing you doing something more wild on it.Is that suppose to look like cf? If so , it will be different.

Of course I will like it as it has no tailpipes :cheers

Are you thinking of painting the wing to match as well?

One last thing I see wrong with the picture is that there is no battery cutoff on the rear :D

yes- it is carbon fiber- it fades to black in the back and the wing, wing struts, parachute mount, etc will all be powdercoated black.

lol- no parachute either and the wheels aren't right. probably some other stuff.
the wheels will be anodized black, the ring on the beadlock will match whatever colors i decide to go with.

I like the first and the last ones the best. I've seen other cars with similar colors on the 3, 4, 5 & 6. I'm personally not crazy about black wheels unless there is a decent amount of other accent color on them as well (I know you mentioned that). I like it simple. I love the scheme, though.

full wrap. but i still have a ton of paint to do. i am painting everything on the car that the wrap will not be on. painting entire bottom of car, all wheel wells and tubs, all the cage, engine bay, everything. all of the parts on the car will either be powder coated or anodized.

i was wondering how long it was going to take someone to notice the similarity between this design and lynch's car. good thing is that lynch's car no longer looks like that since he wrecked it and they are changing the paint scheme. i ruled that particular one out anyway because it was so close to his old design.

i know alot of you guys like the riveted look but i am a little worried that it is a little played out. that was one of the first things everyone did when wraps became popular. i also thought it was a little "too much" with the carbon fiber background.

i appreciate all the opinions. and so far my favorite is the one in post #13 if it matters. i like the first one, but i really don't want the front of the car to be white. i also like #8 but if you took the shadowing away i think that is a baby blue. i don't really like the baby blue.

+1 for black wheels ! I always liked the Weld Magnums blacked out

Over all the design is badass, im just against white. I say #1 in the group with maybe a silver front faded to orange?

#7 also looks good

post 13 is also nice but too bright for my taste

stay away from # 3 it has Tim Lynch all over it

the weld magnums were the ones i always planned on doing but now i am thinking about the American Racing Trakstars. What do you think about those? Everyone has the magnums now.

you are right. it is hard to find something original to do, alot harder than i thought it was going to be. that's why i like the carbon fiber look, i haven't really seen anyone do that in combination with something else.

the riveted look was always the first thing i mentioned when working through this design, but i have just never really "loved" how it turned out. i still might consider it, but i want a little color too.

I kind of like #7, but I have a thing for light colors like white and gray. Looking at the Trakstars on the website i would still have to go with the Magnums. But then again with them being blacked out they would probably look pretty good.

There aren't many options out there for drag wheels; Greg Welds, old style Welds, American Racing and Bogarts. Are there any other companys out there im missing ?

i saw those Trakstars blacked out on a car at Jackson during the last grudge thing and they looked pretty awesome.

i think you named them all that have anything decent except billet specialties. Those wheels are badass but i can't get them in the size/ backspace i need. I need 15x12 double beadlocked with 4" backspace. So i am limited a little more.
Those billet specialties would look awesome on your car though.

Sheppard will probably be on the front bumper. they have helped me out on their end a good bit but have hooked me up with some help from a few other people. its almost embarassing to admit i am getting some help because i haven't done anything to deserve it. one of my major racing expenses has been cut tremendously.
i probably won't put anybody on there at all until i get use to the car and work the new car bugs out. Neither sheppard or proline wants their name on the car while its running 5.30's i'm sure.

Do puzzle peices! I have a buddy back home that on the front of his boat is puzzle peices "under" the flames.. kinda like what would be under the tear on this design.. have a few pieces of the puzzle flying off towards the back of the car..

Then you can put "Lookin for a Piece" across the back of the decklid!

that was the first design believe it or not. i still have the file somewhere. it is an awesome idea, but hard to make look right with the bodylines of the car. i bet it would look killer on a boat though.
my old tag will be on the car- i am sure that will be a topic of conversation since it isnt very traditional in organized racing to talk shit with something so blatently. but i'm gonna be in the staging lanes trying to get a pot up every round anyway.........lol

i hope that my first race is the stock suspension race Jackson is going to have in March. The second race will be ORSCA season opener at the end of March in Alabama. I don't have high expectations for the first couple of races but if i can go out there and run 5.20's every pass on cruise control i will be happy. i will get my head kicked in running 5.20's but i need to get my feet wet. after that i should be up there with anyone in the country on radials. (i hope)

the design you recommend is basically what it is- its not really the paint ripping off but the carbon fiber ripping off and the paint showing threw.

the backspace is the problem. i don't think they make a 15x12, 5x4.5 bolt pattern with a 4" backspace.

i actually had the original billet specialties wheels back when the car was gonna be another grudge car and was going to powder coat them black but i ended up selling them.

i like that idea- i would tweek the red a little if i picked that one for sure.

I still like it but you almost have to see it in person on a car to really see how it turned out. I see what you are saying about the paint flying off but I guess it would look different where the colors are changing. More of a blowing off of the car like it can't stick to the paint because of the speed vs. being torn like that.

What about a weathered look under the carbon like it was just painted over and now it is coming through? Something different.

Either way, it should look killer when done.:bigthumb:

I really like that one ! I just think the steel under the paint looks bad ass ! And then add some color it makes it look more bad ass !!!!!

i like that one too. it looks like the car was painted at one time, then it had steel plates riveted over the top of the paint, and then carbon fiber put over the top of all of it, and now it's all ripping off.

make the rivets more realistic like this

http://image.minitruckinweb.com/f/8577591/0601mt_02_z+1990_mazda_b2200+passengers_side_bed.j pg

With a weathered look like this.

I am actually trying to find a cross between the 2 like jeff described. But it is difficult to do when wife is rushing me to get ready to leave for Hilton head. lol Will search later tonight.

Well wes being as your best bud on this site i would have to go with either the riveted panel looking one or the one where the tears is silver and i did recognize the similarities in lynchs car still looks good i dont really like the colored tears to much

That's funny, Hal. I was loving the riveted panel look; but thought of that truck for some enhancements under the tear. However, the one with the riveted panels coming apart into the red/orange is my new favorite. Stickerdude does some awesome work. Saw a lot of their cars at Route 66 in Joliet, IL-close proximity and all that. Never seen one I didn't like.

i took into consideration what alot of you said believe it or not, and this is probably going to be the final version unless something changes between now and the time it goes to print-
