As some of you know, when ProLine built my motor, they built the identical motor for another customer. I have been watching him closely since his car is already running to see what kind of numbers he is able to put down. His setup is a little different than mine- he has twin 88's and 315 radials. I should make the same power in outlaw radial trim with a single 114 and the 315's.
He set the new world record's for 1/8 mile and 1/4 mile at Bradenton this weekend for Drag Radial.
He went:
60': 1.27
330': 3.18
1/8th mile: 4.68
1/8th mph: 162.42
1/4 mile: 7.06
1/4 mile mph: 202.79
He tried to turn it up on the next pass to try to be the first radial car in history in the 6's and almost wrecked it. Here's a picture:

i'm sure he broke plenty of stuff- if not, he got lucky. that is one picture out of a series. the car slammed down, did two 360's in the middle of the track and stopped just before it hit the wall.

I'm sure I will at some point. You can't find the limits until you cross em.

Nittos? lol
Another point that drag radials are going to take over the slicks on alot of cars/trucks.

the potential for that engine to also be destroyed is a good posibilty. wes, good luck. that is really the cutting edge of drag racing right now and the most expensive. you could probably get into top fuel cheaper
To me drag radial is a hell of a lot more appealing than top fuel, at least from a spectator standpoint.

very true. even tho the top fuel/funny cars go a good bit faster, I like seeing cars that are limited to a 10.5 or drag radial.

i agree completely, but it is evolving at an incredable pace. and will continue at that pace and you will have to keep up with the technology that is creating these awesome cars

what do you mean about by it being a good posibility of that engine being destroyed? i'm not following you there-

when a car gets on the back bumper and unloads the back tires, engine goes into valve float quickly. i'm not sure what the clearances would be on your engine, you may have pretty nice size dished pistons so it may or may not happen. on a nitous engine it's a sure thing. if i said destroyed, i didnt really mean that but bent valves, pushrods and stuff like that would need to be looked at.
