Okay, here ya go, the dates and venues for this year's HOT ROD Drag Week, presented by Gear Vendors. Registration has not been set up yet but should be by the first of March or thereabouts, and host hotels won't be determined until Jenny can pre-run the route. Likewise, rules haven't been completely finalized but I don't expect they'll change at all from last year. So, without further ado, here's something for everyone to start planning for. Let the smack talk begin!
Sunday Sept. 13 Muncie Dragway, Albany, IN Test ‘n tune
Monday Sept. 14 Muncie Dragway, Albany, IN Day 1
Tuesday Sept. 15 US 131 Motorsports Park, Martin, MI Day 2
Wednesday, Sept. 16 Summit Motorsports Park, Norwalk, OH Day 3
Thursday Sept. 17 National Trail Raceway, Hebron, OH Day 4
Friday, Sept. 18 Muncie Dragway, Albany, IN Finals

What is it? Is it like a mini Power Tour, or just a bunch of track days packed into a week?

race from 8-2 and drive to the next track. some tracks had 400 miles between them. there are check points and crazy routes you have to take. no support vehicles. your allowed to pull a small trailer but pulling a trailer can really be taxing on brakes, trans, and cooling system. everything you need better be in your car or you will be borrowing stuff from other racers which will happen no matter how prepared you think you are. make alot of great friends on the way
in 06 the drive was 1500 miles in 5 days. now its a little over 1000 in 5 days.
this black camaro didnt make it 4 miles in 06 and won the event in 07 but it had a different combo too

That is the ultimate event. It's amazing how fast some of them cars are.

WOW Bracket style, or heads up? With luck, I should be faster by then (nowhere near blown big block fast, though); and should be in Chicagoland about that time. Would be cool to swing through there on the way back.
Yea, if I had more time off work then I do, it would be fun to do.
I don't follow that race, but I thought to even be competitive you have to run single digits, and I wouldn't doubt that you would need a 7 second car to win.

there are many different classes. had i entered my car and if it stayed together, i would have won big block 3 years in a row. most of the time, small block class is faster than big block.
there is unlimited, prostreet power adder, prostree non power adder, big block stock susp with and w/o power adder, small block stock susp w and w/o power adder, index classes, then daily driver. you dont really race anyone. you have to hit checkpoints on the route then you run your car at the track. you turn in tickets for your best time then onto the next track.
index classes try to run as close to an index as possible. winners usually end with a almost perfect index. like 12.000000001. they will go down the track maybe 20 times each day and hand in their ticket with the closest to the index.
last day, index and daily driver run a bracket race. its a really well run event
its over 1000 miles of driving in 4 days. my mistake

Hmmm. I will have to see when I will be up north. Was planning on taking a week off. Hopefully they overlap.
