A co-worker was asking me if there was any way to get better fuel mileage with his truck.
What kind of suggestions do you guys have, for upgrades to improve mileage? I suggested tune, but I don't know anyone that could tune it.

Tune, good intake and exhaust that ALL work together.

Tell him to Google Hypermiling.
J/K-Bradley has it pretty much right. If 2wd, and he likes the look, lower the suspension also. Hal, Sr. picked up on highway mileage by just lowering his F150.

A tune would be the best option in my opinion. My truck picked up a little with a K&N, I am sure an aftermarket exhuast would also help a good bit.

if he was looking for fuel mileage why did he buy an SUV? Should have bought a smart car. :poke: Best way to get better gas mileage is install a 2x4 under the gas pedal and a bungie cord from the steering wheel to the pedal to limit how hard he can press it down. there you go and they are almost free mods. :cheers

is this with a wideband or what?? im assuming HPtuners.
i use HPtuners and can tune any 98+ fullsize truck or SUV as well as S10s.
my price is close to that without a wideband.

since Jr told me about you i've already given 2 people your number. this is just a hobby for me and i prefer tuning for best driveability over power since i dont have a wideband so WOT fueling isnt something anybody wants to do without a wideband.

me too HPtuners just havent updated their list because the 2010s require the beta version which isnt available to the public yet.

Thank you for that. I know there are many people in the area who were (are) loyal to Lorenz and may not be sure about me, but I just want everyone to know that Lorenz and I are friends and I hope to continue providing high quality calibration services in the Low Country.
I have been working with several local shops over the years and have been talking to a few new ones lately in the hopes of expanding calibration services beyond GM platforms. I hope I can make it happen. :bigthumb:
