Had a good time even though my car didn't want to stay together until the last pass. I finally had a halfway decent pass on the last run. It was good to meet you guys, had a blast! I'll be getting some new tires and giving it another shot next month. How did everyone fair? It looked like you lightnings were hookin up.
On a side note, I'm not a fan of the track not displaying the time or the other racers info. Whats the deal with that anyways? I'm not from around here, but all the tracks I've been to up in VA/North Carolina have the times displayed.

I had a good time I didnt run what I normally do and wasnt as consistent as usual that was more than likely due to the heat but had fun either way. I do think that the track needs a few improvements but for a smaller local track it was pretty good.
Thanks Dave for taking on Chef duty!!!

90% of the tracks around here are gruge tracks, and 90% of the time the racers have N/T (no time) on their windshields. I'm sure the tracks feel that if 90% of their patrons have N/T on their windows, why bother with a scoreboard?
Thanks Dave for taking on Chef duty!!!
No problem, I had fun and a burnt fore head at the same time!!!:bigthumb:

I wasn't aware thats what the N/T was for. Hell, they put that on my car. I could care less if everyone seen what I ran. Best run was a 7.1 @ 99mph with a shitty 1.65 60'

I'm hoping with some good tires and some suspension work I'll be in the mid to low 6's as long as I can keep the damn intercooler pipes on. I might have to get a boost controller and turn up the boost a few pounds. My runs were off of the wastegate spring and the max I seen was 8.2 but it was hanging around the 6-7lb range the whole run. I'm guessing burst knock is taking my timing too. Out of the 14 degrees commanded I was only getting 9-12 degrees logged. The other three runs there was so much crap that had went wrong, I couldn't use the data that was logged.
I'll probably have everything to go and ready sometime next month or early June to go again.

Had a great time today and can't wait for the next one. Hopefully the blazer will be tuned and not running 10:1 a/f. Once its figured out she should be able to hit low to mid 10's in the 1/8th.

Yeah we got the suspension dialed in, now we have to work on a few a/f related things.

I heard it pop when we were leaving, was it a nitrous backfire?
What would you say made the most improvement as far as suspension upgrades?
dkbmxer002
04-26-2009, 06:57 PM
Anti roll bar and the torque arm along with the qa1's... Haha but yea the battery fell off and caused things to go haywire..
98Camarod
04-26-2009, 07:00 PM
isn't the anti roll bar like 400 bucks? I know the t/a is, but you can find those used for 300. That's an ass ton of money in suspension.

It is a low-mid 8 second 4400 lb suv in the 1/8th mile. For now. Until the a/f can get better than 10.1- 11.1 range. Truck just dumps the fuel. Tuner is out of the country for now. BONE stock lt1 with full exhaust. Mainly because its in a swap blazer.

Dammit, guys. Why you gotta be picking on my slow-ass turtle? With what I know about the red truck, that is EXACTLY what should have happened. Even before I learned a little more about it later in the day. (wink, wink, nudge, nudge) I went 9.255 at 77.86 mph with a 2.138 60'. True, that's slow; but I had fun. That was also only about my 8th pass in the car, and the tires are different. Cut me some slack. It'll get there.

too bad we had misfire issues towards the end of the night. Well, they most likely were also present during the other runs too just not as noticable. One of these days we might just get some realistic times with a tuned vehicle. Can't wait to break into the 9's (1/8th mile). Remember she's and overweight soccer mom's SUV. She'll always be a snail. Only weight reduction we can do now is drill 3 inch holes down the frame...lol Oh and pull one headlight out.

04-27-2009, 09:56 AM
I'm guessing you were out of the 9's then or someones BSing:

Thanks for the comments guys. It's still a "work in progress". She has Sanderson (POS)shorty headers to a magnaflow tru-x and then into a dual 2.5 inlet outlet magnaflow muffler then exits stock location. Bob at Masterbend did the work. I have another Magnaflow for him to put on the Tow Pig when I get time to run over there.
