does any one have a hook up at a parts store? i have applied at one or two and i havent got on at any and i feel like i am qualified for the job. i go to school for automotive and i am ASE certified in brakes and electrical. it seems like all the douches get hired at part stores and the people who know what there talking about dont. but if anyone knows of anything let me know.

We need PART TIME at the Sam Rittenburg Advance Auto...we are borrowing people right now from other stores. People cant seem to pass a piss test or a background check.
You can call me if interested 556-4214
And poeple knowing anything is hit/miss...I've seen my fair share of very knowledgible people, and my fair share of idiots. I can atleast be honest and tell you I dont know instead of feeding you some line of BS. And believe it or not, there is this boat load of training courses that if one actually read it, and could remotely retain it, you'd end up learning alot...but its easier to just cheat lol. I actually read it, but a 4yr degree didnt take 6yrs for no reason LOL

I hope you aren't borrowing any people from the Savannah Hwy store. They are a bunch of gold-grilled degenerates and that store is a disaster area. I used to work at the old Advance on Savannah Hwy 20 years ago and we kept that place spotless.

LOL...that store goes up and down...it truly depends on who is running it. Joey, who is the real manager there now, has been out dealing with re-occurring health issues, so my old manager Kevin has taken over for the time being...and he has gotten alot of things over there turned around. Granted HWY 17 still has its issues...but he has fixed quite a bit of it from my interactions with that store.
And no borrowed help from there...HWY 61 (my old store) and my HWY 7 store help each other out with certain hand picked people. No matter how hard you try, you cant teach patience and customer service...some people truly arent meant to do this kind of work, or retail in general...thats part of the problem with a few people at hwy 17, more then the other stores in west ashley
On a side note, while everyone on here knows stuff about cars, 99.9% of the people have got no clue, alot of the point if you ask them what they own...there is some important detail they cant tell you...so the frustration level goes both ways...and then there are just the normal a-holes who like to argue. Its pretty much a thankless job, most customers dont care enough or are having a terrible day thanks to a broke car to be nice or say thank you ect. Its not like going into best buy and telling the kid there you want the baddest tv/surround system they have b/c you want to be there, you want that cool thing. My job its more "my cars broke, im f'd, i dont have money, it will always cost to much"
I had a guy bitch that a set of pads cost $15.99....seriously

Thats just not true. Im a ASE master tec. Ive got 7 ASE's. I have a part time job at advanced auto. They hired me because of my ASE's. They are wanting more people that know about cars, but I dont think you want to drive to Savannah every day.
