Ive been downloading like a mofo since Ive got my 160Gb Ipod about a year ago. What I have noticed is at the beginning of the month my D/L speeds are really fast. Near the middle or end of the month my speeds get really slow. Its like they cap the amount of data I can D/L any given month. Is this legal since I pay for a plan? I dont read that much fine print but Ive never noticed a maximum file transfer rate on any paperwork they have given me over the years.
Have any of you ever noticed this problem with Comcast? And if you have is there anyway around this?

Nope haven't noticed it. But I shouldn't since I do not download like a mofo and you should be throttled back. Not fair for people like me who aren't to have slower speeds :D

So whats the difference if I want to D/L music or play Xbox live all day?
My thinking is Comcast should be able to give everybody what they pay for and not penalize anybody.
Apply this same scenario to the electric, sewage, trash, gas or water company and tell me if you think its fair.

Neither. You should be punished. :D I don't play xbox live either :D
Maybe alot of people in your area is slowing you down. I know I get that way from time to time here. But since school is out it is fine.

i don't know the specifics, but yes they do cap you and slow you down.
They might notice the downloads you do and your uploads too. If you leave your stuff that your downloading available for everyone to upload from your computer, they might see this and reduce your bandwidth. I have had Time Warner for awhile and do my fair share of downloading, mostly movies and TV shows that are ALOT more MB/GB's then any music you'll ever download, and I have never noticed any bogging down of my internet. I also pay the extra $10 a month for the turbo internet and I have notice downloads of 1.7 MB/s before, now that's f-ing fast.

Wow I wish I could D/L 250 Gb a month before they capped me.
I could have been done D/L'ing songs about 1/2 a month after I got my Ipod.
