I had just got the truck fixed. Last night the wife and I decided to take it for a cruise and get on it a little bit. I was at stop and wanted to play with the mustang next to us we got on it and all was well. we came to the next stop light and started going. the truck shifted to second and did not go to 3rd. I had to take it to the shop in second gear to get it looked at. The tranny locked up and was going to cost 750 to fix. Me and the wife said fuck it and I went out and got a new truck. sorry guys. But they did give me a good trade in amount. I was just fed up with the damn thing.

If they do come out with gen 3 I will be first in line....dont worry about that. I traded it in at gene rede toyota and got a 2006 f150 5.4 triton. 4 doors, black, clean only 14000 miles on it. got a dvd player and room for the kids. Only financed 8000 on it. If I knew how to post pics I would post some up. But its just more feasable for where I will be at and its 4 wheel drive. I just needed something bigger for the kids. the lightning was fun but what am I going to do on an island with it. And all it needs to do is break down up there where the price to fix it will be triple.

That all makes sense. I'm sure you'll be back in the speed scene someday. Congrats on the new ride. Sounds nice......for a Ford.

Sorry to hear of your troubles, but that sounds like a nice truck. I know what it's like to get frustrated with a vehicle.

I test drove a few trucks last night and nothing compares to a lightning................that doesnt break down. now I see why they are called money buckets. I am satisfied with the new truck though and like I have told sheltra I will buy another lightning when I get back. Already built and ready to go hopefully. plus my oldest son will be at JR Dragster age and can get him going.

I like yours..... but I would not deprive you of your lightning. Hopefully there will be a gen 3 and I can go to that...... Or I might just find a different one anyways.
