Dorchester Dragway Hooking or Not hooking?

Is dorchester hooking now or are cars still slipping and sliding down that track? I havent been there in a while, but im thinking about going back there. Have they improved on downtime also? Thanx

Drove out to Dorchester yesterday on the same tires I could not get to hook at Midway.

The track "laughed" at me and my slow ass truck. The track was hooking so good I think I could of had a 300 shot of nitrous on top of measly 450 HP. I'm still not sure that would of helped me stay in front of 1iron but it may of been a little closer. :hide:

In Midway's defence, Dorchester had some Pro mods there yesterday, so they may have had some extra prep.

The pro mods were still having troubles gripping on that right lane though, if that corvette didn't pop his cute when he did, he would have lost it for sure. Two of the Pro mods in the left lane hit 4.6's @ 150+mph, that's freaking fast on that track.

I was impressed to say the least and the driver of the blue vette was a lucky man.

Im actually happy that the rain came through and shut the track down. I think somebody was bound to get seriously hurt yesterday at Dorchester. I dont know how many passes like that the track could have held up for before giving up the ghost.

Yea of course. If all tracks would prep their tracks like pro mods were gonna be there every race day it would build up their reputation in the long run. Pro mods dont really help tracks survive now days its the T/t and grudge cars that tracks are living off of. I havent had any issue hooking at Bowman, Carolina, Midway, or Orangeburg, they are some tracks that prep their tracks due to car counts. I say do it the same way everytime.

Believe it or not, the prep for a promod is after 60'. They don't want the 60' prepped because their cars prefer wheelspeed.

I made one pass at the chessa last night and the track was real good. I sure would have liked to make some passes on the jug. I have a friend with a fast car who said Dorchester is the only track he goes to where he runs a higher MPH with more wing.
