1st one; 10 micron filter clogged in about 4 months, 2k miles.

This one was a 100 micron clogged in 2 months 2k miles. (drove the truck more than usual lately)

1st one clogged right after using some q16 fuel (maybe 1/8th of a gallon)/ This one I used a little q-16 right after putting it in, but none since. I'm wondering if it does something to the paper filter element that I use.

I run gas from sunoco and hess. Lately Ive been using a lot of Sunoco, I wonder if that has anything to do with it.

it could be the ethanol in the gas.

If you run straight Q16 and nothing else is there any reason to run a filter? Is that a stupid question? Damn beer.

My dad is having a problem in his gto. He usually buys from sunoco and this last tank was hess. It wants to cut out every so often and he has to get out of the throttle. He lets it idle and it is fine. I wonder if it is bad gas or the ethanol?

Ethanol likes to eat rubber.

My brothers motorcycle is getting the carbs rebuilt and gas tank drained and flushed right now because of the water, I mean ethanol right now.

EXXON at the end of trolley road and dorchester is 100% ETHANOL FREE GAS!

I have seen a few Exxon stations that are ethanol free, but not all of them. I tried some gas from one of the ethanol free Exxon's for a short while to see if my gas mileage would improve in my bike and car. It did not improve when compared to the crappy mileage I have been getting from known ethanol blended fuel. WTH?

On a positive note, I have been trying BP gas from the BP station in front of Sangaree for a while now, and I have noticed my mileage is back up to normal. I am getting the same mileage out of my vehicles that I got before ethanol was getting added to gasoline around here. If you get a chance to try some of the BP gas from this station, go for it, and see if your mileage bumps up.

I fill up at that gas station exclusively and lately I've noticed I can only get 17mpg when a year ago I was getting 21 inthe f150 (flex fuel). I drive more highway now than I did before. when I was getting 21mpg I was in 4:30 rush hr traffic. Now I miss the rush hr traffic. I just think the summer blend/winter blends and air temps have more to do with the gas mileage than ethanol.

The only reason i would try no Ehtanol would be to get better gas. But I'm not a Exxon fan. I haven't used Exxon gas in my vehicles for 31 years. When I did use Exxon I went through fuel filters like Mike is experiencing now. I had put a purolater clear filter on and noticed the red fugus growing in the Exxon gas. so I stopped using it and now my vehicels do not go through filters like they did back then. BP only for the F150 and I use anything that burns in the Blazer.

i usually only put BP in my challenger. i was driving home from midway, almost ran out of gas and put exxon in my car, if i had fillings in my teeth, they would have rattled out. had to break out the tools to turn the timing down to get home. drained that crap out when i got home. i'm not sure if it was blend or not
